Darnold was beyond hyped too (and he has plenty of warts come ng out of college.) He was basically the consensus #1 pick right up until the end and the Jets still believed Cleveland was going to take him. I wish they did.

Right now the offensive line is not better but our next QB will have to be mobile. This is a nice clip of Wilson's intuition/ability.

Couldn't you make the same argument for both Fields and Lance? Those guys are good runners too.

If the Jets draft Wilson, Fields will turn out to be the guy we should have drafted.

That is just how it is.

I could but then you have to look further into why Fields is rated lower at the moment than Wilson, It will be interesting to see where Lance falls in the draft. Lots of talent but suspect competition. But Douglas likes him as some pundits have said. Douglas didn't go to North Dakota to rack up the miles.

That's how the Jets have drafted for decades. We can only hope and pray that Douglas breaks this trend, whoever he takes.

I certainly understand the hype surrounding Wilson. I won't be disappointed if they draft him. I'd just be very set against start gin him week 1.

I think Fields has a way more translatable game as a Week 1 starter. I see Lamar Jackson in him but bigger, stronger, with better mechanics and more touch.

Wilson should be given at least half a season if not a full one to practice before seeing the field.

Well, tomorrow is Mac Jones pro day. We'll see if Douglas attends or a coach or scout.

That's beautiful how he steps up in the pocket instead of continuing to roll out like almost every other prospect would do. I just hope he's athletic enough to make this style work in the NFL.

Spoken like a long-term, downtrodden Jets fan. Yes, that's how things have definitely gone in the past, but it's a new day. Can't you sense it? JD is going to make the right decision. He's definitely taking a QB, and is going to pick the right QB. Believe.

Pretty much exactly how it will work out.

I don't think either of them will be the guy we should have drafted, so I guess that means we take one of them and Darnold goes on to great things elsewhere.

Your 100% correct on Wilson he needs minimum half a season learning and developing in practice.

The one disagreement I have is with the comparison of Lamar and Fields. Lamar is way more explosive, faster and elusive than Fields. Lamar is is more Vick. Fields reminds me of Cam Newton more. A strong athlete that can move, has a big arm and ideal size.
