I didn't see any 2020-2021 college basketball thread so starting this one now with March Madness play in games scheduled for tonight. Anyone do any brackets? My FF Predictions: Gonzaga Baylor Illinois Texas Gonzaga over Baylor for the title. Pretty much straight chalk I guess, but have a few upsets in first few rounds. - I think Ohio beats Virginia strictly due to VA and their COVID restrictions. Don't think they can fly into Indiana until tomorrow night and they play early Saturday. - I have LSU moving onto the Sweet 16 and beating Michigan in round 2. Not having Livers is a big loss. - Syracuse winning 2 games as well. That zone is pesky and so hard to practice against in short notice. - USC moving on to the Elite 8 and beating Kansas in the Sweet 16
I watched a ton this year and did a ton of brackets (only one for money) but I don't really have a ton of faith in it. I'm with you on Ohio. Going to take the spread tomorrow on that. Preston is supposedly an NBA talent. I made fade Syracuse tonight. SDSU shoots well from the outside which is a zone killer. Syracuse has been so boom or bust this year. Blown out or blowing teams out. USC has come out flat in so many games this year I can't see them going deep. Also - average at best guard play. If Peterson doesn't hit some threes the paint is going to be clogged as fuck for Mobley. They'll bear Drake purely on talent. I like Oregon going far. They hit threes, play defense, have length and defense down low. They have an X-factor player in Duarte too who does just about everything and drains from 3. LSU is awesome to watch, I dunno if they can take down Michigan though that should be a good game assuming they both advance. The O/U is gonna be 200 lol.
wow one and done for a pretty solid Ohio State team that just beat Michigan to win the BIg 10 tournament......that was a surprise.
Welp wipe what I said about San Diego State off the board. I don't think I've ever seen a lazier effort by both players and coaches than that game. Zero attempt to drive the ball. They played tic tac toe with their trio of guards behind the arc and then jacked up a bad three nearly every possession.
Just lost another with Syracuse knocking out SDSU who I had winning three games - worst loss of the day. Still have final four of Baylor, Illinois, Gonzaga and Alabama. Have Gonzaga taking the title from Illinois - hope that old nun is still around. On the other hand, in my money pool Texas Tech advanced, Michigan tomorrow but giving 26 points.
I like Texas Southern +25 in a couple minutes. Had Colorado laying 5 and LSU in play -1. Listened to a dumbass betting site and bet my first under in my life in Kansas/EW and I'll never do it again. Did anyone notice that in the CBS bracket pool that one single entry went 16/16 yesterday? I have to believe that there must be over a million entries; My six wrong put me in a tie for 318 thousand something. Amazing with the combination of upsets.
Yup, you were right with Texas Southern and I'm going to get bounced off Michigan in my money pool bracket. I could see that set up by halftime. Michigan better be careful they don't give the whole game away in the last two minutes here. The chance for real money starts for me tomorrow with a grid pool where you get the same numbers for every game and any time those numbers hit on a final score you get paid. You can win more than once, the championship game is worth about thirty grand.
Good luck. Michigan was bound to let off the gas as they have some lingering injury issues. Texas Southern also scores like 70% of their points in the paint so they're bound to keep games close by drawing calls and getting good looks.
Over the years about 2/3 of the people who start with the 15 or 16 seed teams end up taking over the favorites because of the letup with the lead and a lot of coaches who want to reward those guys who worked their asses off all year and hardly ever got on the floor so they can say they played at the big show; they've got another game to play in two days and they're all sudden death.

Doing pretty well so far. Only had OSU going to the Elite 8 and Tenn/Purdue to S16 so not much damage yet on my brackets. Ohio over VA is a big game for me, have them in s16 in 3 of my 4 I do for money. it's really mind blowing to me that teams every single year can't beat Syracuse and their zone
