Me too. I'd love him, Javonte Williams, Kenneth Gainwell, Javian Hawkins and maybe Jaret Patterson and Chuba Hubbard. I've watched some of all of them, but have watched more of the first three. I'd really love to add Najee Harris, but know that's not going to happen, and it shouldn't.
Well Douglas wants to build through the draft and we have what 9 picks this year? Add several undrafted guys + maybe a few more veterans and the roster fills up before you know it. It still baffles me that as of today they haven’t gone for a veteran cornerback though.
He’s got to show improvement starting this year. He’s got a long contract and he’s building the right way for once - through the draft. His tenure will be determined by his drafts
So up until a couple of days ago I was able to sit back, wait for the signings to come, and look at them objectively. Then that dumb Josina Anderson had to tweet that Keanu Neal was considering the Jets, and also considering a switch to LB. So I watched a ton of video on him and started daydreaming about his amazing fit at WLB in the new defense... ... and now I'm stuck in the REFRESH ZONE. Sign with someone already, dude. This is a lonely place.
This is typical Ozzie Newsome style, drafting many 2nd tier and 3rd tier guys but the problem is Ozzie is a proven draft genius. Now JD has to have a solid to great draft, not average. We know the holes are and JD knows where the holes are. Hopefully he ll select the right personnel for the position.
Don’t remember which thread it was in but somebody was losing their mind because the Dolphins traded for him and we didn’t. I think I even replied that he would be out of the league within a year. I didn’t think he would be out of the league within a month.
Welcome to our world. We've done that with players like Neal, Samuel, Gabe Jackson, Thuney, JuJu, and others. Overall the team is a lot more solid with these additions, and should be better, maybe a lot better, but I still have to wonder if we might have perhaps had 1-2 other really good players if JD weren't quite so conservative. To be clear, I don't want him being a wild spendthrift like Mac, but when your team has been as bad as the Jets has been, imo he has to expect and accept that he's going to have to overpay somewhat (within reason) for FAs. I want Neal badly, even if it means we have to wait another day or so to get him and JD has to up his offer a little.
All that easy money going bye-bye, how fucking thick can you get? 8-10m every season for 10 years or so and that is probably cheap tbh
