Good game, fellas! Caps weathered the storm in the 1st and then played a solid final 2 periods to end it. Still 5 more match-ups this season between the Capitals and Islanders. 4 in New York, I believe.
Congrats to your team. The Caps have owned us this year so far (3-0). Have a feeling both teams will be battling it out for the division. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they meet again in the playoffs.

Arthur Staple on Twitter: "LL: "Whatever we can do to make ourselves better, we will be doing that. (The Lee injury) does change our (deadline) focus. If we can get ourselves better, we will. We're now looking a little different (at the deadline)."" / Twitter
Joe Pantorno on Twitter: "Lamoriello admits that a rental (like Taylor Hall/Kyle Palmieri) would be the "first focus" on the #Isles' trade market. "That would depend on the team that you're dealing with and what they might want to take back and how you can work it... but it wouldn't be the only focus."" / Twitter
Pierre LeBrun on Twitter: "So I would think you will see Lamoriello dive in on rental wingers like Kyle Palmieri (if he doesn't re-sign), Taylor Hall, Mikael Grandlud, etc... In other words, Lamoriello and former colleague Kyle Dubas might be dialling up similar phone numbers over the next 3-plus weeks..." / Twitter
I’m turning this one off. Down 3-0 to a team on a back to back that was destroyed 9-0 the day before is too much for me.
There was always the concern that the excellent play was a mirage, based on the crappy teams they were playing, and it's sure looking that way right now.
Tough loss last night. Coming back from 3-0 down to tie it up just to give up a goal late in the 3rd period. At the very least they had to get the one point. 0-4-2 against the Flyers-Caps combined. That has to change. Isles need to beat the Flyers tomorrow night just to end the losing streak so it doesn't snowball into a killer losing streak.
two game losing streaks shouldn't be a big deal, but it's the context of this losing streak in that we clearly have difficulty with the better teams in the Metro, and getting significantly outplayed for long stretches of each to fall behind 3-0 in both, that is concerning. And it can't be pinned solely on the loss of Lee as we struggled with the Caps, Flyers and Pens with him.
Exactly. We don't have our two favorite punching bags ( Sabres and Devils) to beat up on anytime soon. With games at Philly, at Boston (Monday, Tuesday) they better beat the Flyers tomorrow at home. A five game losing streak is real possibility if they don't.
Andrew Gross on Twitter: "NHL announces #Isles - Bruins on Tuesday is postponed as Bruins deal with COVID protocols. Bruins' game on Saturday against Sabres also postponed." / Twitter
Isles agree on a two-way deal with Anatolii Golyshev. Not sure signing Russians other than Ovechkin is the answer to their problems ... https://www.nhl.com/islanders/news/islanders-agree-to-terms-with-golyshev/c-322694982
Walstrohm is improving by leaps and bounds, you know you are on the verge of making it when other teams are taking notice of you and want to test your toughness with a fight!
That’s the way to break a losing streak. Only thing you could have asked for more would have been the hat trick by Cizikas.
Definitely what the doctor ordered. Goals scored by five guys in slumps, and Sorokin with his seventh straight win.
