This whole sentiment he's pushing is really annoying and it's happening everywhere, here included. I feel like I've said it a million times in the last two days but no one wants the Jets to spend spend spend and sign every big name... most of us just want the Jets to use the assets the team has to improve the team when there are players available that fit glaring holes.
Was May or June of 2019. was after the draft but he managed everything after that for entire season. he’s entering the third year of his contract.
It's refreshing most FAs when one is talking about signing 29-32 year old players, but I see this year as being different. This year I don't think it would hurt to overpay by a 1-3 million per season on a younger player (24-27). Also, until we start winning and show some respectability, we're going to probably have to overpay at least a little to get some quality players to sign here. We have a ton of holes that need to at least be addressed with better competition, and hopefully upgrades.
FYI: I didn't know anything about him so I did a quick search and found this, which is from a fantasy site, but the analysis seems sound: Very Deep Sleeper: Keelan Cole (Fantasy Football) | FantasyPros And this: Is Keelan Cole the NFL’s next big-time receiver? - Big Cat Country Seems like JD's kind of player.
I hear ya. Some players say really dumb stuff. Like that WR in NE who ragged on Rex for his foot fettish, he got benched for the Jets' PO win over them. That really hurt the Pats. But what JuJu said about the Browns didn't strike me at the time as being bad. Steelers and Browns play 2 every year. They know each other well. So when Media tried making a story out of the match up, JuJu just shrugged his shoulders and said "Browns are the Browns". I though he meant "Browns are the Browns, we play them twice a year, there's nothing special we'll do this time".
Well this was his quote before the playoffs: "I think they’re still the same Browns teams I play every year. I think they’re nameless gray faces. They have a couple good players on their team, but at the end of the day, I don’t know. The Browns are the Browns.”
Doesn’t matter when. He had a leg up on all of the New 2020 GMs. I don’t care. he put together the worse roster I ever seen any GM put together. Go back to my posts before the season starting with his awful draft arguing with awful NCjetfan on how bad this team was going to be. right now - this is still the worse roster in the NFL. Unless he has a dream draft ( very unlikely) at best 50% will be contributing players. This is a 5 win team and there will be no ramifications.
I thought it was the first half, but 1st drive sounds more like it. But we did shut them down on that opening drive preserving our 7-0 lead, so there's that.
Good find. I know I picked him up in fantasy a few times last year (deep deep league) when he had some nice weeks. But that Jax situation was impossible. But there definitely seemed to be something there in terms of him thriving more consistently in an organization who knows how to best deploy him and that trust him. Not sure Jax did that. Hopefully we do
So it doesn't matter that he wasn't around for the big FA signings or the draft? It doesn't matter that the ILB he inherited missed most of the last 2 years? Or that the RB he inherited was a shell of what he was in his Steelers days? The jury is still out on last year's draft.
Alright so instead of not paying for Mosley or bell he would have signed a mid tier LB for a 1 year contract and sign a RB for a 1 year contract too. I’m not blaming him for the crap prior to him. but he had MORE time to evaluate things and he put together a 2-14 clown show and now they will be a 5-11 one with a new coach but hey ♂️ hey the great joe Douglas “rebuilding” through the draft. Ooooooooooo zuniga, Ashton Davis, Clark, joe Morgan, oooooooo watch out!!!!
