The more I think about this the more I think Watson might be in some trouble here. Why would you be flying out different women from across the country to give you massages? Especially recruiting them via Instagram. Wouldn't you just find one who gives good massages locally and keep using them? Also, as an NFL QB doesn't he have access to staff PT people who do this sort of thing professionally and that he's worked with in the past? It should be pretty easy for the women to prove they visited him when they said they did, especially if flights and messages in text were involved. At that point it turns into a he said she said but it's hard to say 6+ women are all colluding and making it up to railroad you.
I believe they can under the Personal Conduct Policy, especially if a crime is being accused. I’d guess if this expands into a criminal investigation a suspension will be certain.
This is the direct quote on Roethlisberger's 6 game suspension. It followed meetings with the Georgia DA deciding whether or not to prosecute (chose not too.) "As the District Attorney concluded, the extensive investigatory record shows that you contributed to the irresponsible consumption of alcohol by purchasing [or facilitating the purchase of] alcoholic beverages for underage college students, at least some of whom were likely already intoxicated. There is no question that the excessive consumption of alcohol that evening put the students and yourself at risk. The Personal Conduct Policy also states that discipline is appropriate for conduct that 'undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players.' By any measure, your conduct satisfies that standard."
Being a Jets fan isn't easy. But I'm starting to actually be thankful that no matter how bad it is here "at least I'm not a Texan fan" What a mess they have.
Apparently up to 9 women now. This is a massive problem with all kind of wretchedness involved everywhere - primarily with Watson if the allegations are true.
Now that it's 9 women, I'm adjusting my prior on these allegations. I'm not going to make any conclusions until I know more, but maybe Watson really is a creep.
Not that it needed to go to 9, because one should be bad enough, but yeah, it becomes exponentially more difficult to have something be false with such a large number of accusers. I really thought Watson was one of the "good guys" with his family background, what they went through, and the charities/foundations he's supported in the league. Damn. And the Texans side of this seems really shaky to me, too. The owner's neighbor comes forward with these allegations right at the point where their disgruntled FQB seems to have tipped the scales on his trade demand? I know it seems counter-intuitive because they're only hurting themselves by doing this, but super wealthy dudes with IDGAF money like McNair can get to the point where they just want to win/crush/destroy their "opposition" (which Watson had undeniably become). Essentially, I find it hard to believe these allegations were just discovered right now.
Everyone who subtly automatically "didn't believe the allegations yet because their allegations at this point," because they wanted Watson on their favorite team.
Why would the NFL stop it? These are allegations right now, so in your eyes guilty and have to prove your innocent!
I'm not saying that one isn't bad enough because of course it is. I'm only saying that if you're trying to falsely accuse someone of something, getting one accuser is a lot easier than getting nine. So that there are now nine increases the odds that these allegations are true.
Agreed. They're making the Browns pre-Stafanski look good by comparison. Really hoping that all of this about Watson is untrue, regardless of what team he ends up on next season. Been a fan of his since I first saw him play at Clemson and was devastated when we passed on him for the crybaby up there in Seattle. Maybe, in hindsight, it was a good thing we passed on that pick. Who knows, but hopefully it all gets worked out to the correct conclusion, whatever that ends up being.
If this has gone up to 9 women now, it really throws the trade deadline out of the water. Draft is in 42 days and there's a lot to go through before then. Also with Covid there could still be backlogs for suits to be heard. Which may take longer to resolve. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
The texans have 2 things they are trying to accomplish with Watson. First is trying to appease him and make him want to stay in Houston, the second is to maximize his trade value. Starting a smear campaign would destroy both. Not to mention that Cal McNair would be facing massive losses if caught. Loss of the franchise, prison. He may be stupid but I'm sure the Laywer representing the women is not. I'm not condemning Watson, just not buying the conspiracy theories. Keeping hearing the Lawyer is Cal McNair's friend, his neighbor. Neither is true. When he wanted the Texans to draft Manziel , he put up billboards and in an interview about it, he said I'm asking my neighbor Bob McNair to draft him to keep him in texas. That's been twisted to he is Cals neighbor, he's associated with the Texans, etc. It just doesn't add up.
Moral of the story. Millionaire shouldn't mess with billionaires. You drag a skeleton out of their closet and they will drag 9 our of yours.
