JuJu is a great fit in terms of his on-field skill set. I'm just not in love with the bullshit he brings off the field but maybe I'm making it into a bigger issue than it actually is.
I know we had/have a lot of cap space, but i'm curious of how much 'free caps space' we have for new contracts. It seems like half our team last year were on cheap 1 yr deals, and all those players have to be replaced.
The one and only thing that puts me at ease about that is the coaching staff we now have in place. At the very least he will get the kind of ass chewing he needs from the very top with the head coach.
Juju's off-field stuff is overblown IMO. He's active on social media and the worst you can say is he's kinda 'look at me' when it comes to social and traditional media, but it's all been harmless stuff. No rap sheet, no trouble, no clubbing, etc. (that I know of). And he's still young and supposedly maturing into a leader in the locker room.
I assume Juju isn't going to get the massive contract I'm sure he wanted. I wouldn't be too pissed if the Jets signed Juju, and traded Crowder for like a third round pick or something.
Exactly, plus when Gronk did the dancing, wrestling etc etc nobody said anything. Let the kid dance all he wants. I see it as practice for the end zone LOL
I'm with them and a lot of you. I think Juju's TikTok stuff is overblown. If he can be had for a reasonable deal, go for it JD!
He’s actually a really good dude and hardworking...saw a small documentary on him. The dancing/ tiktok stuff was a little weird, but it is what it is. He’s not a malcontent or bad teammate or anything like that Small upgrade over Crowder, but why are people wanting to cut him so badly? I would possibly look to trade him, but it’s not like we’re up against the cap or anything close. Can never have enough weapons either.
I doubt they get Juju, but if he does sign here AND the Jets draft Wilson (plus some IOL and RB help), that'll be a pretty nice situation for a rookie to walk into.
Why does signing Schuster mean the end of Crowder? Are we expecting Juju to line up in the slot? I’d rather Mims learn his trade as a WR4 without the pressure of being a WR2.
I think because JuJu plays best out of the slot and you aren’t going to pay three receivers in the $10 million range which we would be doing most likely.
I think that would be a nasty top 4 WRs...we’re not paying TE or RB anything so I don’t think it would be that crazy if we kept them all. Crowder and JuJu working the middle of the field with Davis and Mims on the outside would be tough to cover
