..and that Wilson is the pic. From his latest insider news and notes: Draft outlook Conversations with multiple general managers and high ranking execs around the league left me convinced that barring a shocking and dramatic shift in the process -- an injury or something completely unforeseen coming to light -- the Jets' focus is completely on BYU quarterback Zach Wilson. The thought around the league is that the Jets are NOT interested in even entertaining offers for the # 2 selection, and that Wilson is their man. Several teams picking in the top 10 are operating as if that is what will happen next month. Take it for what it's worth. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...e-happened-plus-bears-settle-for-andy-dalton/
You don't get desperation offers normally until draft day unless the guy at the other end of the phone line is Mike Maccagnan.
I don't believe it. IMO JD is going to trade with Carolina and take Pitts so Lefluer can try to score a Kittle like TE. Or we trade with SF, and that somehow includes us getting FB Kyle Jusczyk. Either of these paths are much smarter then grabbing Wilson at 2.
If we swapped with SF for just a FB I'd be upset. Of course there would need to be an extra pick added. Zack WIlson is an idol that the Jet Nation frenzy has built up. We have been irrational about QBs all offseason. First Lawrence was the next Brady/Montana. But we lost him so maybe Fields. Then Fields goes crazy in the playoffs with 5 TDs while suffering a hit that would have knocked most QBs out of the game. Suddenly he might be better then TL! But...he only looked average in the CFC game, while basically facing the same situation Mahomes faced in the SB. We can understand Mahomes struggling like that...but not Fields? In reality Fields has way more upside then WIlson. But since Fields looked so average in the championship forget him - lets build another idol. This time its the dynamic Zack Wilson, who is essentially a D2 QB, following a bad season with a good season, against nobody teams and players. He is like the QB that thrills in preseason. "He is great! He has all the tools. He is a no brainer at #2!" SOJ. Come out of her my people.
We are relying on the opinions of professional scouts and our GM. We get excited when when evaluators with a good track record like what they see on tape. We as fans where sold a bill of goods on Sam we will trust our New GM to make a god decision on a QB and support that decision until proves a bad one. Most fans will root for the success of the QB others will hope they suck to be proven right. I will support Wilson, Lance, Fields or whomever until they prove they suck just as I did Sam. If we stick with Sam I will root for his success but after last season I am not very hopeful. I just want to still be rooting for the Jets past the first month of the season. It has been a while . GO JETS!!!
Douglas aint much of a smokescreen type. He seems like a straight-shooter and not much of a media manipulator.
Organization has also been extremely tight lipped since Gase got fired. Our best source during the coaching search was a fuckin Jets fan hiding out in a damn bush.
Idk about that. They announced who they were interviewing every time. I think about Jamal Adams asking for a trade, he asked for it and was traded in like 2 weeks. No games or gimmicks. Draft day everyone knew the Jets wanted a lineman and a receiver, and that was Douglas' 1st 2 picks. I dont think he spends a minute of his time calling media types and trying to spread false rumors to throw other teams off. Just doesn't strike me as that guy
I didn't want Sam. I wanted Allen or an o-linemen. My head nearly exploded when we took Sam for 3 #2s. But, observe my avatar.
