So does an incentive laden deal signal the Texans are clearly trading Watson or not?

What could he do to stop it? The Texans are run by Patriots company men.

I'm assuming even the Texans aren't that bad that they would deliberately sabotage their franchise because they're secretly loyal to the Patriots. Also if they did that and a damaging email leaked out, that's lifetime ban worthy.

If any damaging emails were ever going to leak out to burn the Patriots, it probably would have happened over the course of the past 21 years.

And if you've ever watched the bonfires of team destruction that happen every time a Belichick disciple gets a job somewhere else in the NFL, and then seen them go right back to Foxboro and get their old job back... yeah.

I doubt he wants to play for Kraft if he had a choice

The Pats have done a lot of shady stuff, but getting a future Hall of Famer for peanuts because another team's front office is loyal to you instead of to their team is on a whole different level. Also, the leaked emails would probably come out of Houston, not New England. Not that I think any of this will happen anyway.

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume any trade would have to be signed off on by the owner who there is no reason to believe would be part of a conspiracy to improve the Patriots.

When you're an egotistical serial cheater like Belichick and you get your nose rubbed in it by your ex-HOF QB, I'd imagine "taking it to a whole different level" isn't really that daunting an endeavor.

This seems more and more like Carson Palmer 2.0 situation. Not good.

Depends on the perspective...That turned about pretty good for the Bengals.

Sure, except Palmer's overall talent and ability dwarves in comparison to Watson's.

The Bengals subsequent lack of success is completely independent from evaluating what they got in the trade. Unless you believe they would have won multiple playoff games and not be seen as choke artists had they not traded Palmer...something they didn’t do with him there so there’s no basis to believe would have occurred subsequently.

Palmer was dubbed a “generational talent” and went 1 overall. Not sure Watson dwarfs that but he sure is a better player.

just seems the Texans are going to dig their heals in and so is Watson.

Huh? What are you talking about? “You play to win the game” and you would think that if you say it worked out well for the Bengals that would equal success on the field because of the over compensation.

Which works out better for teams that want to trade for Watson. I don't really remember the Palmer situation too well but I do know he wanted out badly.

Ya he requested a trade and the Bengals said no your part of the team. He said I’m never playing for them again and he sat out an entire season and a half then the Raiders over paid for him at the trade deadline and he was trash coming off the couch after that much time away.

Wow with all the moves the pats have made, if they could get Watson. Wow. Actually, I think Watson is going to the Pats. Houston can go to Watson and say we are going to trade u to the Jets, Watson says I heard the Pats were also interested in me and I want to go to the Pats, or San Fran, or Phins. Either that or I do not play. Make your deal and tell me when it is done.

Except we aren’t taking about playing we are talking about the trade. The Bengals historically being incompetent at building a winning team is completely separate from evaluating the trade. And getting two firsts for an aging QB that doesn’t want to be there is a great trade regardless of the fact that the Bengals haven’t won a SB tied to those draft picks. Just a really nonsensical argument in your part. By your reasoning only trades which lead to winning a SB... the only winning that ultimately matters, could ever determine a successful trade. And by reasoning I clearly mean the complete absence of logical reasoning.
