And they compliment each other well. Davis does the dirty work underneath. His contract is about right but I think he was a bit undervalued because he struggled a bit his rookie year going from WMU to NFL football and he was a bit over-drafted. Big tough receiver that can sit at 8 yards and catch the rock on 3rd and 7. Slants, stops, etc. EDIT: correcting this. I don't think he's undervalued contract wise but I think he's a bit looked down upon as a receiver because of where he was drafted.
Not feeling it either. It would be a better signing if he was the man. But we already got his type in Mims so now we got a pair of Ifs.
Hey I'm one person who didn't want to spend "big" money on WR & I like the Davis signing. He is also good at catching the deep ball. Very underrated because of AJ Brown. But he outperformed Brown in many games.
JuJu Smith Schuster says he balled under Sam at USC. When you have a sorry team with horrible management that drafts defense every year what do you expect. I hope they trade Sam and watch him play better. Then you'll see the contrast.
I watched around 75% of Sam's college games before I couldn't take it any longer. Sam made the same mistakes in college as he has done in the pros. He is meh. Sam also had an extremely talented team around him when he was at USC. I don't want Schuster. Overrated at his price tag.
How bout the top two? Signing this guy does nothing. Mims is better than him. A top flight receiver would have been much better. But Sandy Alderson wannabe Douglas always bargain basement shopping. Robbie Anderson is better than this dude and costs less. This is the Jets brainless trust logic.
keep Crowder. Draft a speedster now. Davis, Mims, crowder, *Toney/Moore*, Berrios, V.Smith. That’s nice.
No. But I was throwing up every time he would make the same dumb throws into coverage during critical drives. Obviously you did not watch him in college. I had Sam & Rosen way behind all the other QBs in that draft. Had Mayfield 1 and Jackson 2. I threw up when Cleveland took Mayfield because I was sure we traded up to get him at 3. I wanted us to trade back to get Jackson. But I knew that idiot Mac would take Shitty Sam at 3 since the media said he was great.
Yeah with the lack of an offensive line and a idiot like Gase coaching exactly what did you expect. Has Darnold even had any offensive talent on the Jets? He had one wide receiver that he could depend on and Douglas let him walk for nothing. I bet you Sam would thrive under Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin, or even Belicheck.
Zero chance I'd cut Crowder. He's very dependable, catches everything, and does a great job creating separation on his routes. Exactly what we need for whoever is playing QB. I like the Davis signing as well, especially how he can also help in the run game. Gotta find a field stretcher too now.
