Dude, we apparently didn't even inquire about Linsley. He was an all pro last year and McGovern was garbage at center for us other than a few games near the end of the season.
There's no way the Jets should release Crowder! Sorry, but that's just nuts imo. Release the Jets' most reliable WR over the last 2-3 years and one of the best slot WRs in the NFL, and sign two injury-prone WRs? That's a recipe for disaster and ruining the new QB. No thanks!
With the cap space that the Jets have, if JD doesn't sign any Tier 1 FAs, then maybe he should be fired, because he's either too slow and deliberate like Idzik, or he's too conservative. There is a ton of Tier 1 talent out there and the Jets need to spend a big chunk of that money so they don't wind up in another situation where they have to spend alot in a year when there aren't many good players in FA. There's absolutely no excuse for not signing any Tier 1 FAs this year. There is value out there and the Jets have a ton of holes.
You don't like this FA class? Holy shit! What's not to like? There is a literally a ton of excellent players out there at positions of need. I think Douglas should be fired if he doesn't sign any.
Yeah, but losing FA when there is a ton of talent out there and you have a ton of money to spend, means your team stays a loser.
I actually like Corey Davis. He won me a lot of money in prop bets last year. LOL Always undervalued every week. Although not a fan of spending money on a WR, I feel Davis is very underrated and will get much better if he's targeted more.
Corey Davis had 984 yards last year and 5 TDs in 14 games with Ryan Tannehill throwing him the ball. This guy could is a big time talent at WR.
Perhaps, but in the meantime, he has improved that team immensely today, and they will probably return to being a winner. Will we be able to say the same?
Agree. The fact that the Jets went hard after Thuney is an indication that they are targeting Tier I players.
somewhat random thoughts Patriots have created their own stimulus package for tier 2 players! When is the last time a FA blitz has felts as good at the end of the next season as it did on signing day. There's a lot of remorse. It's very situational (e.g., is there a good explanation as to why the guy is even available) and very, very rarely a bargain yet we're in a capped league where value is king. I'd much rather kill the draft and development game and put together a team with breadth and depth
