That's wrong, Tex. The fatality rate from COVID-19 in the US is over 1.5%; it's over two percent worldwide. In the US, Covid deaths surpass those of accidents, lower respiratory disease and stroke combined and are exceeded only by cancer and heart disease. Should we just ignore those too because you think they're insignificant? Should someone being treated for heart disease or cancer also ignore those diseases so as not to inconvenience themselves by postponing routine screening tests? What's your point? Do you have one?

I think he may have used the decimal figures and put the % sign behind it. I read once the fatality rate for those over 65 was somewhere around 5% which would be .05

All it would take is simple grade school math for him to determine the death rate in the U.S. is over 1.75% and around 2.25% worldwide. Well, I should say "simple grade school math" for some. Even if it was only .5%, I don't think that would be any comfort to the families of those 140,000 dead. I can image the doctor coming out, "Sorry but your husband died but on the bright side only X number of people will die from this". Sometimes people don't think before posting.
