Not real in-depth, but he did do a pretty good job of highlighting his strengths and weaknesses. He does have a punchable face though.
I guess that you really never saw Namath play? If today’s rule were in effect then, his final stays would have looked a whole lot different.
I've read articles how Wilson is a terrible fit in the system that is being brought in and others that say he'd be perfect here. Idk what to believe. Never seen him play other than highlight clips on YT. I feel like there's always a player that has one good year and shoots up the board and the Jets always seem to be the one to take him and it rarely works out.
I was puzzled why you felt this way until I saw the video. LOL I felt the same way. That hair cut has to go! His voice is pretty bad too, but he does seem knowledgeable.
If there's any truth to this rumor at all, then this shows that team want to settle their QB situation. JD, you shouldn't mess around with Sam. Go ahead and trade him now and get what you can. You probably need to sign Beathard anyway, and you probably already know which QB you love and want.
Isn't that true of all these near-adult fanboys who believe they are accomplishing something worthwhile by sitting in the basement watching game film and spewing their opinions into the ether? Who asked? Who cares?
Who cares? Well that depends. If they speak good unto Wilson theyre a credible source & a future NFL GM..
March 26th will be big. BYU Pro Day. NFL teams will get to see Zach Wilson up close. I hope he blows them away. That would be big for the Jets. I still remember Sam's Pro Day 3 years ago. He looked amazing. Even threw in the rain. I thought it was a sure thing he would go #1 to the Browns. Couldn't believe he dropped to the Jets.
Yeah great Pro day then he regressed and shit the bed for us ugh...Wilson better be better than Sam! ..but who knows? Who does JD want and like? You know they are prob moving on from Sam. They would take D watson in a heartbeat but fronting all that capital has to be carefully weighed and would that setback the Team in short run (?) Saleh and JD have a monumental decision to make which I dont envy If our Watson offer fails we are "stuck" with Zach W or maybe someone else...so hope for the best and prepare for the worst ahah
I am highly considering Wilson at 2nd overall now. The more I watch him the more I believe he is the next big talent. I just like how he throws the ball so efficient and precise kind of similar to Mahomes. He does not need space or perfect conditions to throw perfect balls. I think he is the real deal. I am officially on the Zach Wilson bandwagon. And as much as I believe we could get a very decent haul for our pick I do think we have enough draft capital in the next 2 years to build a contender. We cannot pass the chance to get the most important piece early (FQB).
JD wants to move Darnold so he can trade the #2 + more for Watson. The entire building through the draft is simply postering. Saleh and JD will not bet their jobs on Wilson an undersized BYU QB. This is isn't Flacco or Allen. Those guys had elite deep ball arm talent and size. Wilson has amazing arm, but his size will still limit him in the NFL. In addition, Wilson had a top 5 protection and lowest pressure rate in all of College Football. He was mostly playing subpar competition. The Wilson hype has to calm down. He's good, but JD and Saleh I highly doubt are going to take that risk...at #2. They will only take Wilson to have him sit / no way he starts day #1 with this Jets roster. All of the top FA WRs are looking to get franchised, our offense won't get a huge upgrade in FA. Everyone on the media train with Wilson to Jets, sounds nice and all. Rather trade back get Pitts or Chase, plus OLB and OL. Franchise will be in a better shape.
LOL. I see what you did here. I would trade 2nd overall for Watson no question but the more asset you add to it the more risk you have to fail building a proper long term contender. You just become Texans v.2.0. Great QB but holes everywhere.
I'm starting to warm up to the idea of trading down after being married to Fields at 2. Even if the selection isn't a quarterback. We could even walk ourselves into two trade downs if we go from 2 to 7 or 8 and then down again depending on what Denver, San Francisco, Washington and Chicago so over the next month to fix their QB situations. I'm not going to act like I know enough about Lance to evaluate him because I don't, but if we trade down, and continue with the methodical rebuild, drafting him at 8 and firmly sitting him on the bench for 16 games might make sense.
IMO All theories about JD QB plan forward will continue to be nothing but a wild guess as long as Sam is on the roster. If he is not traded during free agency, the speculation that JD will trade down the second pick for a haul will become stronger and stronger. But if JD can find good value for Sam and pulls the trigger earlier , then the road ahead becomes clear. I’m convinced Our new QB last name for absolute sure will start with a W. If we get a low first or a second and third for Sam he might wrap that with the first pick plus something else for Watson or we go Wilson and build a hell of team around him. Free agency is just around the corner. Cant wait.
I think Sam is a goner regardless of what is offered. I definitely think the decision has already been made to move on from Sam. Douglas is just "playing the game" to try to maximize Sam's value, and the only thing left to determine is where Sam will be traded and who will be the Jets' next QB.
This doesn't really fit here, but didn't want to create a new thread for this, and thought posters would want to see this.
You are probably right on. He is trying to maximize Sam's value, but how long can he go before he has to do something with Sam's option?
I think he has until some time in May before he has to make that decision, but again, I don't think there's a decision to be made on Sam's 5th year option. There's no way that Douglas should pick it up.
