Agree completely. There appears to be a lot of consensus by analysts for NFL teams in need of a QB that Fields and Wilson are worth the second pick, as substantiated by the implications of a trade the experts are proposing with Houston for them to get their new QB, or some other team like Atlanta wanting to trade up to two to get their QB, so why not us? There is always risk, in fact there is risk even with Watson, where he might wan to be traded again after two years because of whatever new reason he desires.[/QUOTE]The NFL is lunacy to me Why would you trade so many assets for a QB who couldnt overcome a bad roster elsewhere to put him here? Im not saying Watson sucks but his limitations are there. Youre basically mortgaging the future to hopefully catch lightning in a bottle burn bright and quick. Then wow, were right back here in 3 years or so. Build thru the draft. Seriously, thats how NE has stayed relevant for so long. Recently they havent drafted as well and their vets are getting old and its showing. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

He's 26 years old, lightning in a bottle? 3 years? I completely disagree. Try 10-13 years of elite QB play.
I know I shouldn't bother arguing with THE zace, but this post is littered with crazy opinions. Saying the Texans stunk because Watson couldn't overcome a bad roster is like saying I didn't lose weight because I didn't exercise hard enough while completely ignoring the pizza and wings I ate. He's been in the league 4 years and the Texans won two division titles in that span. The offense outranked the defense in all but one of those years. They traded away, in my opinion, the best WR in the game of football and Watson got BETTER. I could go on and on but I shouldn't have even bothered replying in the first place.
Youre an idiot, like a real complete idiot. I dont know how you dont stick a pen in your eye everyday. You dont even know what the fuck the post was about. Actually im saying as good as he is when they took the talent away he struggled to win games. Meaning, why gut the resources we have to bring him here only to have to rebuild again and him be in the same situation....its not that he sucks, its obvious that he lost weapons, so whats the point of bringing him here? They lost talent aound him due to BOBs stupidity. He cant overcome that. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
He needs quality recievers to truly shine. He can work with bad ones but he needs big fast recieviers to play to his down the field strength....which hes very good at. Making him dink and dunk underneath is not his strong suit. Hes not bad at it but he is very good at chunk plays. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
Yeah its 3 years and then this team is in rebuild mode. Youre relying on 2 and 3 round picks to shine if you trade for him, so how else would you increase the talent....FA. then youre paying big money for FA that probably dont deserve it, or passing and paying for scrubs....so then we suck and either he is ready to leave again or your in rebuild in a few years....yes lightning in a bottle. Houston is NEVER getting that offer from Douglas. As the old saying goes: "They can WANT in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up faster".
That's where I've ended up as well. Getting Watson would be sick but it still creates a limited window of opportunity before we will likely have to once again pay a lucrative price (the second time in the form of a contract extension) to retain him. Is he worth it? Maybe. But it seems as though the methodical approach to rebuilding the franchise seems to be the best path.

These were his WR's last season Fuller (suspended) B cooks Coutee Hansen (remember him?) I coulter Rately? Mitchell JR.? These were Watson's Stats Passing YEAR TEAM G ATT COMP PCT YDS AVG LNG TD INT 1st 1st% 20+ SCK SCKY RATE 2020 Houston Texans 16 544 382 70.22 4823 8.9 77 33 7 221 40.63 69 49 293 112.4 Not sure how that correlates with needing great WR's to look good tbh
I don't think trading a bunch of assets to Houston is what JD is going to do. Rather, I'm getting the feeling that things are headed in the direction of JD sticking with Darnold and trading back from #2 to get a bunch of picks to upgrade the talent. I hope I'm wrong because I think Wilson and Fields are clear upgrades over Sam, but for a guy who has often said that he believes in building through the draft, getting himself a boatload of picks with which to do that seems most likely.
You never disappoint. Although not a glamorous one, your role is very important here. Thank you for fulfilling it with honor. I mean just imagine telling someone they are so fucking dumb they should stab themselves in the eye with a pen and then turning around and saying Watson struggles with bad receivers after the season he just had.
If the Texans didn't rush to accept that then they're stupider than I thought. Douglas had better not even be considering something that stupid. Aside from Becton, that's trading away the Jets' best young talent/players in Williams and Mims. That would be insane. If Douglas did that, he should be fired, immediately, and laughed out of the league. The NFL would have to intervene and negate the trade for the good of the league. Watson would have no offensive talent around him this year except for Crowder and maybe Herndon. Douglas would immediately become the worst GM in Jets' history.
Watson would turn down that trade after seeing how much we hurt the team by trading Q. I think Jets players would be pissed off and that would only add to the pressure on Watson to perform at an extremely high level from day 1. We are not in a good situation for Watson right now because the team has no foundation. So what's the point? Be worse than the Texans? That trade offer is a joke anyway. The #2 pick is worth a ton. Most of the sports media is so stupid and are usually wrong about everything. I trust fans more than the media.
Lmao do you even know what youre talking about? Youre just typing stuff. He did struggle to won games they won like 4 games last season!!!!!! Jesus do you even oay attention. Ok cool he outs up numbers, but they still won 4 games!!!!! So what the hell do you think is gonna happen here without talent, they win 6 games? Just stop, just dont even reply Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
Peter Schrager, NFL Network, proposes the following NY Jets trade for Deshaun Watson: 1. Sam Darnold 2. Quinnen Williams 3. Denzel Mims 4. Pick #2 5. Pick #23 Most panelists thought it was a good trade, but at least 1 thought the Jets should throw in a #1 next year in addition. I love Watson. When Maccagnan passed on him for Adams, I was so sick I couldn't eat for 24 hours. Nevertheless, I would prefer the Jets keep Darnold and build around him than pay that price. If they go for Watson, only for our 2 1st round picks, and if they want Darnold, then I would throw him in too.
