It's pretty fair. Wirfs played a slightly easier position and played better than Becton this year. He also didn't get injured frequently like Becton did. I'd say it's fair to say the early returns indicate we should've taken Wirfs. It's not a no brainer, but it's fair to say at this point. Given that it's only one season it's definitely subject to change.
We're not comparing Becton to Wills. We're comparing him to the other tackle that was available at our pick, Wirfs.
I wouldn't swap Becton for Wirfs or Wills tbh but I will acknowledge the injuries are a little concern. Hopefully, these were due to no real training camp and a wanker of an HC who kept playing him injured in desperation.
I agree Wirfs had a better season, but I am hesitant to say we should've taken Wirfs over Becton even now. Becton looks to me like a guy who was a bit more raw but had higher potential. So, the fact first season was close, even though Wirfs was still a bit better, makes me think this may have been the right choice. If I had to redraft right now, I am not sure I am not taking Becton again. I want to see Becton lose some weight this offseason and work more on fundamentals. With his athletic ability he may surpass Wirfs and many other tackles next year.
That's just a massive pack of lies, no way on earth will they be shifting McCaffrey. Sick of these twitter cunts that spew out crap for the hits.
I want to start being an insider snd making shit up and back tracking. To be fair these guys ARE being fed shit that they shovel right to us.
Whoa! Although I have to admit that he's a pretty good coach, I think he's (Rhule) an asshole, and some of his decisions are just nuts. I'm totally glad that he isn't our HC.
He didn't take the wrong one. Wirfs is a RT. Becton looked like a stud until he got injured and then he had some struggles with speed rushers.
Maybe but I still think they literally just sit there and make it up as and when required, slap a source's told me today on the end and off you go.
I totally disagree. We needed a LT not a RT. Becton had what 2 injuries? That's hardly "injured frequently."
JD has done very little to improve our team. It is a fact, Gase was a better coach in Miami because he had some talent. I hate Gase he is a assxhole and he wanted guys like Adams and Bell gone. ., I said they would be gone when he was hired. However, the fins traded a tackle who sxcked for 2 1st and a second. The first this yr should be traded back for a extra 2 this yr and a 1 next yr. Grier turns a tackle into So three number 1st in the top 20 and 2 early number 2s. JD is so far behind everybody. Two late 1sts for Adams. . I would love to have Adams over Tunsil, a weak left tackle, yet we got almost nothing for Adama while the phins fleeced the Texans. Then even improved on that. This is what we are against and JD seems weak
if we’re talking about what Douglas has done so far, he got becton later in the draft than Thomas or Willis, who play the same position. Wirfs plays a much easier position surrounded by much better talent. So, Douglas had a better first round than the giants or browns gm
The trolling is too blatant here, great trolling is done when people aren't sure if you are serious or not, this is a weak effort
That's a lot of speculation. Who's to say JD didn't like Thomas or Wills better than Becton and would've taken one of them instead had they been available?
He may have, but that doesn't change the fact that he took Becton. He could have taken Wirfs and tried to move him to LT, or could have taken a player at another position.
He had the Panthers playing much better than anyone thought they would this year. Before the season started, I read a lot of things that said the Panthers might finish with the #1 pick an only win a couple of games. They won 5 games and McCaffrey barely played. Not bad for a rookie HC. I didn't want him when he was a candidate for the Jets, and I didn't think he would be very successful in the NFL. He at least started out much better than I thought he would.
