His uncle has 10 children of his own and I don't know how many nieces, nephews and other relatives. I really don't know how much it effected his parents, who apparently don't seem to be very rich at all, but we are reaching very very far at this point to equate that with Zach being a spoiled brat. This report is a pile of dong, which has been debunked by his teammates and coaches. I have some concerns about Wilson, primarily shoulder injuries and whether he can gain some muscle by his pro day and measure out solid, but this is certainly not one of them.
Wilson and Fields may be the 2021 version of Mahomes and Watson. Passing one of these guys is simply not an option IMO. Pro day throws I think would be correlated to clean pocket accuracy adjusted for things like drops due to pressure on receiver, batted balls, etc. Fields will do amazingly well there, and so will Wilson. Fields has been the best at it if you take last two years. This year it's Mac Jones, Fields, and Wilson who excelled in this category, all historically great, passing likes of Burrow, Mayfield, and Mahomes, who were previously top in adjusted completion % from clean pocket category in several years.
That rich kid quote from the scout has been posted on here before but was debunked by somebody, I can't even tell you what thread it was in now but I do remember reading it, how could you not, it is a really shitty thing for a scout to say. It reminds me of the story of Malcolm Allison when managing Manchester City went and scouted an up and coming player by the name of Colin Bell, he was heard loudly telling everybody who would listen how shit the number 8 was for Bury FC, Man City signed that shit number 8 soon after and he went onto become an absolute legend and top class player, also he has just passed away, So RIP Colin 'The King' Bell.
It hasn't been debunked, it's been contested by people close to him. As they should do, but just because they defended him against that statement doesn't make it false. Regardless, my dislike for him as a prospect has a lot less to do with that quote than it does for him being held up as this tight window throwing god, when he's flaring balls out without a ton of zip against horrible defensive backs. NFL general managers will know a lot more than all of us when they personally interview him. It sucks that players will be in their comfort zones on a video conference rather than an uncomfortable combine room. But we're really just speculating here on character stuff.
I said it had been debunked on here by somebody. But I don't think it is much of a scout report but a personal attack for that matter, it isn't a good look for that scout imo, there is other language to convey your thoughts if you do want to call him a brat.
Well, instead of attacking me, why not just answer the simple question: How did a team with the best QB in all of football manage 0 TDs and only 3 FGs in the most important game of the season? Go!
Zack's gonna have 4 wives and 22 kids to support, so he HAS to go #2 overall. Just to afford milk and sneakers
Having a great QB doesn't guarantee anything, but it significantly increases a team's chances of contending for a Lombardi Trophy. The Chiefs OL got banged up at the worst time and the Bucs took advantage.
Tom Brady on the best offense of all time scored only 5 more points against a 10-6 wild card team with the 11th ranked pass defense in the regular season. The problem with your argument is that you've distorted it so badly. No one is arguing that Mahomes does not have a good supporting cast nor that one quarterback can single handedly win Super Bowls left and right by themselves with a shitty team around them. However you've now created an argument that presents Mahomes as replaceable by anyone (including Sam). The Chiefs were 1-4 in five years before he became the starting quarterback. They're 6-2 in three years since he's been the starter and they've won a Super Bowl and visited another.
Do you really think my comment was just about that part of your post? It was all of the posts and your entire point completely, but saying it over and fucking over again. But I'll answer your damned question even though I know and everybody else knows you aren't that fucking dumb not to actually know the answer yourself but are actually trying to make some convoluted comparison to Sam. The best QB in football had a bad day at the office, he was injured, suffering from turf toe and booked in for an OP asap after the game, his WR's had a bad day at the office, his top of the class TE had a bad day at the office, his OL had been shorn of bookend tackles. This same Top QB also had two passes dropped in the EZ from amazing magic get your team out of the shit throws, they got dropped. Is that enough for you?
Mahomes on the Jets we are 11-5 and knocking on the door. Mahomes on the KC are a dynasty in the making. end of story
I hope you are completely on the money on this assessment. What a nice problem to have if that is the case. The key for us is to nail down the Mahomes equivalent with the second pick. Personally I think Wilson passes are a thing of beauty. i don't recall ever seeing Sam come close to that with his footwork and ball delivery/placement.
Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. If people knew Mahomes and Watson would turn out the way they did they would have gone 1&2 but double digit teams passed up on both. The prospects look good but there are prospects that look just as good every year that don't turn out to be FQBs. I just really hope we can pull off a Watson trade, tired of decades of the QB lottery in the draft. If we go Wilson at 2 and Fields and say Lance turn out to be Mahomes Watson we will all be furious at JD but with a shortened Covid season and no combine its a severe handicap to taking a QB lottery pick at 2.
so....should we use our draft to build a Bucs like Defense, or trade our draft for Watson/Wilson/Trevor?
These are the type of questions that are weird, they always come across as loaded with hidden snide, as if you are asking the question but aren't really interested in its answer because it is an attack of something that somebody has said. So.... what would you spend our draft picks on? A Bucs like D or A QB Of course, without either, we won't be winning anything but you know that anyway.
Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say. The Jets are in a position to draft BPA for a lot of positions. Douglas needs to continue a balanced build in 2021 and 2022. Once that is in place, maybe the Jets make that championship jump in 2023.
Combination of dropped passes by his receivers and being under a historically high amount of pressure all game. I want to say the amount of pressure he and Brady faced that game was the biggest difference in pressure between 2 QB's in any game ever. It's insane to me that you can't fathom how a guy could have one bad game (and it was still better than most of Sam's) yet defend Darnold to the death who's had 30 bad games in his career while facing weaker defenses than the Buc's on average. Not trying to be rude but if almost everyone here is telling you your points are asinine maybe take a step back and consider that they might be right.
I respectfully disagree with the bold. The only two QBs who have looked as good to me as Wilson and Fields recently were Mahomes and Watson. IMO people (meaning NFL GMs and Scouts) should have known or at least strongly suspected that both would turn out to be very good. I'm certain it was the Texas Tech/spread offense bias that hurt Mahomes and Watson it was probably the fact that they (Clemson) had never had a great QB prospect like him before. They had a couple of pretty good ones who hadn't panned out, and I think that hurt Watson, plus his arm didn't look nearly as strong or accurate then as it does now.
