When I left for work this morning from Fair Lawn, NJ we had a dusting on the driveway and sidewalk but nothing on the streets. When I got to Ramsey it was snowing and the roads were covered but not to bad. This was at 7:00 - 7:30 this morning. It stopped snowing in Ramsey about an hour ago.
It's funny how even a short distance can make a difference. I'm only 5 miles south of Route 4, and I haven't seen a snowflake this morning. The pavement is dry.
Got an inch so far in CT. Coming down pretty good. It's a very fine snow. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I can really get used to this snowing every other day thing as it appears Mother Nature is trying to give us an entire winter season packed into the span of 3 weeks !!! A guy like Brook who just loves this must be like a kid in a candy store all eyes on Wed nite / Thursday then we look at the weekend
I know things can change quickly but for me (Fair Lawn, NJ) the rest of this week shows nothing (RIGHT NOW) however Sat night they are predicting 1-3 and Sunday afternoon another 1-3.
Brook,,,,snow tonight LATE and it ends early tomorrow by noon give or take 2 hours, looks like it maybe makes it to the 5 boroughs as the models have crept North,,,,but not a big deal yet unless this thing really shifts North overnight. As far as Friday = I got nothing as the next event looks to be more like Saturday or Sunday but too soon to tell what happens
After this weekends festivities the next storm that you guys need to keep an eye on is around Tuesday as the models are showing something for that time,,,,,,that said next week we are past the midpoint of February and in the grand scheme of things there will still be some winter left at that point but in reality Winter will be in the home stretch and ALMOST over. Then us snow lovers can go into hibernation ,,,,,,until next year ? Maybe
I hope its almost over but March is a funny month. Last year was nothing but two and three years ago the worst storms we had were in March. What sucks about March storms is its usually the heavy wet stuff where the snow blower typically struggles with that type of snow.
Uncle C I have my second Covid vaccine appointment on Wednesday at 8:30 AM. Tell me this Tuesday event is a small one so my vaccine shot isn't impacted.
You know the drill,,,,,,make sure you have batteries/ flashlights working,,,gasoline and give the generators a start up today as you might need em and better safe than sorry. If it appears to be wet and shiny assume that it is ICE and not water. I really hate freezing rain and ice and I hope that the stays well North n West of Fjay never mind me but my gut says we might have to deal with this as some models show rain others show a bad ice storm,,,,,,I am in the ice storm camp,,hope I am wrong. Looks like another snow storm is coming on Thursday. I am in Bergen County, NJ (Fair Lawn) and for me its says 5-8 inches during the day and 1-3 at night with a wintry mix of snow and ice. I really hope this is the last bad storm of the year even though we have to get thru March still.
Greg we have a long way to go before Thursday but IMO throw those snow amounts out the window. IMO Thursday MIGHT start off in many areas as snow and it MIGHT even come down hard early on but as of now and again IMO (and this is still days away subject to change ) it looks as if changes to rain for most of us,,,,lets get by tonight and tomorrow A .M which right now I am hoping and praying will be rain and not ice and my prayers look like they might be getting answered but still time for that also.
