Too bad the Jets don't run the Shanahan offense.

LOL at least I didn't say Patrick Mahomes excels, even with a crappy Oline. Sam Darnold coulda put up 3 FGs.

Yeah, after watching that SB, I have to believe this is EXACTLY how JD will go. Just no substitute. No shortcuts.

KC got outcoached and outplayed. Simple as that.

Who was Sam's best receiver in his time here? Robbie Anderson? Jamison Crowder?

How do they compare to Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce?

How did Sam's offensive schemes compare to Andy Reid's?

You might be right but that was a terrible example.

The Jets are a team who drafts a QB at #3 and then doesn't do much else to surround him with elite talent. That's why they fail.

I think it's fair to say that Mahomes last night basicaly looked like any quarterback would with an outcoached head coach and a poor offensive line. This has basically been Sam's situation in almost every game since he got to NY. Oh, and Sam had the additional handicap of poor weapons, nowhere near what Mahomes had available against TB.

No question, Sam has played poorly, particularly in 2020, but poor game plans, poor line play, and poor weapons have no doubt over three years eroded his confidence and ability to act naturally according to his talent. In fact, the team issues have likely accentuated and even worsened his weaknesses.

In any case, Sam may be irretrievably ruined, and it's best that the Jets at least hedge their bets. So if they're convinced that Wilson or Fields is a franchise quarterback, they must use #2 on that quarterback. They can then afford to bring along the rookie gradually, like KC did with Mahomes. Even with the top pick spent on a quarterback, the Jets have enough free agency money and draft picks to rebuild the team.

Indy trying to trade for Wentz over Sam. That's pretty telling if you ask me.

It makes sense to me. Wentz has looked bad lately, arguably as bad as Sam, but he's also got an MVP-caliber season under his belt.

You think it’s weird that the coach who won a Super Bowl as an OC is trying to trade for the QB he coached that entire season?

Based on all the hoopla, you would think Sam would be the better option, especially considering the contract Wentz has. You also have to consider the asking price as well.

What hoopla? We know that for a team to give up something significant they have to believe in him. A bunch of teams apparently do but not all of them. It probably seems a lot more attainable for a former offensive coordinator to “fix“ the guy he put together a championship season with so it doesn’t surprise me whatsoever that the Colts are prioritizing Wentz.

With all the baggage that comes with Wentz, as well as his shitty contract, he's still more desirable than Darnold.

No one is parting with a 1st for Sam.

All the chatter about Darnold having multiple offers coming in and Wentz about to get traded in a blockbuster likely means the same thing: Jets and Eagles have no solid offers yet and very few people poking around the edges of a deal.

Classic media hype whipped up by the teams and the player's agents trying to get something going in what is likely a moribund market at the moment with the draft still 2+ months away. It's possible Wentz actually has an offer or two out there but teams typically dislike QB's who spend a lot of time on IR and Wentz has missed at least 4 games in 3 out of the last 4 seasons.

Yeah, it would be great. Douglas could even trade down a little, get more picks, and still pick a game changer with his first pick. Having a QB solves a lot of problems and creates a lot of opportunities.
