I've been lurking the Texans boards here and there and they were posting sources and insight that Easterby is the literal football czar now with his hand in things as low level as strength and conditioning and recovery and what not. So they better hope that the power of Jesus Christ that he instills heals better than it makes trades and manages the cap.
The Rams have no room for talent adjustments. They have to make a few more renegotiations to get under the cap this year and then they're basically done with the retooling.
They have quicker offensive lineman for the running game because it's the same wide zone scheme we'll deploy. Goff does not run around. He can bootleg like every NFL quarterback not named Roethlisberger, Brees and Brady, but he is slow as dirt and one of the worst running quarterbacks in the league. Stafford can move when he needs to. He's not as much of an innovator as he was in his youth and he's not a run threat but he's a much more capable athlete than Goff. He's a good fit for them because he has pretty good pocket presence.
BTW, since we are all Jets’ fans after all, I hope you’ve already come to terms with the idea that if Darnold ends up in Houston he will obviously go on to reach his potential and become a stud there.
Yeah maybe eventually there's a reckoning for the Rams but I think it's a bit overblown. Despite trading all these first round picks and having terrible cap situation they're still a top team in the league and arguably continue to get better. Bunch of teams including the Jets pick top 15 year after year and haven't accomplished what the Rams have last few years.
They haven’t. It’s the John McClain speculation. McClains tweet 1st Feb: “If the Jets want Deshaun Watson, they’ll need to give up 8 first round picks, 7 second round picks, Quinnen Williams, Joe Namath, 1.3 tons of nazi gold and Robert Saleh. HE’S THAT GOOD”
I know. Other people keep saying 'THEY WANT' not McClain wants, of course, he wants Q he is a Texans fan, there was no talk of Q until his tweet and then it becomes near gospel that is what they are asking for and McClain's work is done.
This entire situation is based on anonymous sources and likes on Twitter and Instagram. If people were going to operate based on actual quotes, the first thread would have been 5 posts long and ended with the Texans saying they have no interest in trading him.
It's all a lot of nothing at this point. Watson doesn't really want to go to the Jets and JD doesn't really want him unless he both becomes available at a significant discount and wants to be here.
620 points includes the 2022 and 2023 first round picks. What makes the value so low is they are discounted as future picks. But, the Detroit News states the 2023 first rounder was compensation for Detroit taking on Goff's salary which would lower the compensation for Stafford to 475 total trade value points. I had no idea the Saints were so bad. Back in the late 90s and early 200os teams had not learned how to manage the cap and would routinely have to bludgeon their team. The Jets were one example being 28 million over in 2002 and having to jettison 6 starters to get cap relief. But what made matters worse for the Jets was for the 5 years after Parcells left they had to keep shifting or accelerating the debt forward each year unable to sign new FAs or their own until Ty law in 2005 and the next CBA in 2006 gave them cap relief. I thought all teams had learned the lesson from the Jets catastrophe that you had to have a long term plan. Wow the Saints have a serious problem.
Shouldn't this fucking guy focus on saving the world and getting back to his daughters for Christmas instead of speculating on trades? He's also gained a ton of weight since he did it in the 1980s so he better start working on it now.
