Stafford? Is rather stick with Sam! At least he’s younger. I agree with your general rule, but you’re buying into the lazy narrative that they’re going to have to trade all their draft picks for Watson. They have 19 picks in the next two years, 9 in the top 3 rounds.
Just get it in your head that Watson is not coming to New York under any conditions. All this noise is just that noise.
He won those two games? Really? Look, I like Sam as a person and he seems like a great kid. But three years in and he still can't read a defense, his footwork is a mess and he turns the ball over far too much. Oh, he accuracy on downfield passes is comically bad. Someone posted a video of his play action passing and it was very hard to watch. He was missing wide open receivers. And how do you say they were in tank mode in his first two year? They certainly didn't try to tank last year, when they went from 1-7 to 7-9. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Should have asked me last week. I had that California powerball all to myself. I'm glad Douglas and Saleh are not even discussing Watson. Texans want way too much. Just
I blame Gase and Maccagnan. They never built an offense. Maybe Sam would have played better if they were drafting defensive tackles every year. Last year he had one receiver, a crackhead RB in Bell, a 90 year old runningback and invisiable tight ends. The coach was a disaster. Mahomes couldn't succeed under those conditions.
You have 0 clue if they are discussing Watson, lol. Nor do you know what the Texans would ultimately want. You do realize they can't really say much, as it'd be considered tampering, right?
People here are QB crazy. Were beginning a rebuild which means we dont expend any valuable resources on QB. This years goal is to build a solid core of great players. That is how rebuilding is done and JD isn't going to try and change the formula for Watson, or the #2 pick. You can pretty much count on Sam Darnold starting next year, if only as a placeholder during a rebuild year.
Maybe Watson doesn't end up here (although, it's laughable if you don't think JD will reach out to the Texans about him), but betting on Darnold being the starting QB next season? Lol
i got to for deshaun watson and i automatically loved this mock. i didnt even read the rest of it yet, for the first time in as long as i can remember i am giddy as a jets fan. if they can pull off getting watson it will be monumental. i feel like were going to get notified one day in february and be like how the heck did he pull that off. its a new day for me. ive been so disappointed and angry and frustrated the past 20 years with this team its nice to feel giddy again. and even if they dont land watson i will still be going into next year really looking forward to seeing what saleh can do.
Even if we don't land watson we can still be ok. I like JD and saleh a lot. we could build around sam and draft a QB next year if he doesn't improve or trade sam and draft wilson 2nd overall and build around him with a ton of picks. or we can trade down for more picks and take a lance or mac jones.
Not a fan at all All the trades are too much like Madden. Scherff has had injury issues and is older than Thuney. We don't need Mullens and signing a FA RB is a waste of cap $s and cap space imo. RB is the easiest position for a rookie to start day one and play at a high level. I don't think the Jets should sign any FA RB, but if they do, there are better options than Brieda. Worst of all you use our 1st round from Seattle on a CB rather than taking an OG or a WR on Pat Freiermuth. Big mistake. The Jets should build around Watson. If they are going to draft a D player there, it should be an Edge, not a CB. Almost as bad is taking Amon Ra Brown with our 2nd rounder. There are better slot WRs in the draft and will be available lower. Again, an OL, WR, or even RB should be the pick here, not a slot WR. The only player you have the Jets drafting that I like is Hunter Long. We don't need another FS. We need a SS.
