Cimini is becoming a bit of a hater with absolutely meaningless and worthless point about Bell going to SB on Jets dime earlier and now this. Now, if he is saying Jets are not favorites to land him, that's just not true. There are actual betting odds you can put money on that say Jets are in fact favorites among all the teams. Of course Cimini will never mention that. With that said, there is still bigger chance than Watson will not be a Jet than he will be (67 vs 33 according to betting odds). It's just that these odds are even worse for any other team.
Cimini and the entire Jets beat were left in the dark for the entire head coaching search and now they expect us to believe they have sources with Watson? I call bullshit.
All Cimini really said was it's not Joe Douglas' style, like I have said for awhile. I am not sure that matters though. If you can get Watson, get him! It just speeds up the Jets process on everything. If you draft Wilson or Fields, the 2021 season becomes more of a building year. The expectations are lower. If you trade for Watson, the Jets enter "Win Now" mode pretty quickly. Watson helps bring Free Agents though too. There are Pro's and Con's to both scenarios.
Yea I don't wanna hear this "Joe Douglas's style" stuff anymore. Never in the history of the league has a top 3 QB at age 26 been available for trade. There is no style when it comes to this because it's never happened. I would hope that any GMs style is to make a hard push for the guy that can be a franchise cornerstone for maybe a decade.
Only if he gets traded for a package comparable to what we should absolutely be giving up: three firsts, a day 2 pick and maybe a player.
Then there's not really much you can do about that. It'll suck but at least it won't be because we didn't try.
I’m looking for it in the CBA and I’m not seeing which article it’s under. In this case what is the difference between the accrued year of service and and the tolling of the contract? Based on the way you’ve written it, he could play only week 17, and although he would lose an accrued season his contract wouldn’t toll? He has since passed requirements to be a UFA, not that that would be relevant after his extension anyway.
Just get us Atlanta's second rounder and take Devonta Smith at 4 and we will improve way more then getting Watson.
NRG Stadium would be razed. No front office guy would survive a full season. People wouldn’t show up to games.
We get a generational WR prospect (see what I did there. TGG loves that word and its when the hype starts building it will be thrown around with Smith a lot.). So, we get a generational WR, plus three more picks in the top 36. Sorry, that improves our team way more then Watson.
Devonta Smith isn't going to be valuable than an elite QB my dude, lol. Even if Smith has a Randy Moss type rookie season.
