Leslie Frazier not getting the job prevents Bills from the 2 3rd round comp picks...of course the better coach won't get the job but this is kind of a win for Jets who won't have Bills getting early draft picks.
Also the same guy who was WR coach in Kansas City that one year where...wait for it... No wide receivers caught a touchdown
Lol...The guy also sat behind Andy Reid and Harbaugh. Wait for the upheaval tomorrow, Texans fans and most of the media are going to come down hard on this.
I know, unfortunately, there was some guy adamant that somebody would cough up a 1 for him. That ain't gonna happen.
Question for the QB Savants: some of these packages, e.g., multiple firsts (including our #2) plus a premium player, e.g., Q or Mekhi, seem pretty rich. Would the same or lesser package get us to the #1 slot and would we better off because at least TL would be on a rookie scale? I'm a big fan of Watson but the price thrown around seems astronomical. I say this mindful of the fact that there is a lot of negotiating "science" that says the best way to get a higher price (as a seller of course) is to start out with a higher price (brain seems almost incapable of decoupling from the feeling that if you move the seller off the higher price [even if never serious] you somehow "won a little"). SO i realize some of this can be expected and not necessarily indicative of the final price I still think Watson's contract is an albatross that weighs against Houston in a big way. as important as the QB position is, are we over-hyping the position? consider Stafford never won a playoff game (pause on that; he had megatron). HOFer Rodger won one SB, Brees ditto. Luck 4-4 in playoffs. All Incredible talents I look at the perpetual winners and i think more about breadth and depth. they seem to pull real players out of thin air that were there for the taking by all, e.g., think of all the impact players on KC that anyone could have had while Sammy Watkins (all god prospect) played a supporting role. Seahawks (when they were good) having all of these stars from not first round We need a lot of good players to create synergy. the type of team where the opponent can't key on one guy and be successful (Belicheck's favorite tactic) -- we need that on both sides of the ball We have draft assets and cap space, let's not let money burn a hole through our pockets for one guy
True, but only for blocking in the run game. Becton can still anchor the left side pretty well in the passing game. Plus he seems to get to the second level pretty fast in the screen game, so there's a chance.
Now we need Watson to help us. If he's open to a trade here, there’s not a single solitary reason he should not be a Jet.
