New Coach, new QB, start fresh, 3 years of terrible play have led to his exit, I'll take Watson, Stafford, Wilson or Fields
Two is too high for a WR, but if any receiver could justify being taken at 2 it would be Smith. I'd see Chase going around 6 to Phily. Smith wont make it out of the top 5. I agree we will likely trade down.
Can Smith physically withstand playing in the NFL? I weigh more that that guy. He seems like he's an injury waiting to happen. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Chase is bigger more compact and was doing the same things he did in 2019 is going to be a tough call...
I don't like Chase on the #2 at all. Maybe further down in the 1st round. I really think the jets should find a trade down on #2 but not at all costs. A trade down that is worth trading down for.
I agree except Stafford. Substitute Lance and I'm totally on board. I like Stafford and think he's a great QB, but like Rodgers, is just too old for my tastes.
There are two points about this worth making. Light players (WRs, DBs) are historically not any more injury prone then others. They have less muscle and fat but their bones dont break any easier. Look at Rice, Moss, Marvin Harrison, even Robbie Anderson. Its not really a large factor. Coaches want the bulk so they cant be pushed around so easily. Smith, like Rice before him, has had to battle the size judgement his whole career. And just like Rice he uses it as fire to motivate him to become the best. Its the chip on their shoulder that drives them to work harder. Many of the best players in history became the best because they spent a career wanting to prove people wrong. Smith checks so many "Jerry Rice" boxes that it is impossible to ignore.
