We can begin to quantify it by using Clevelands 16mm purchase of Houston's 2018 2nd rd pick. It looks like that pick was #35 and it is worth 550 trade points. For 16mm that puts the value of a trade point at $28,500. Testing out the evaluation, that puts the value of the 1st pick at 3000 x 28,500 = about $86 million. This is actually way below the value Lawrence will bring to Jax in terms of franchise value, city revenue, etc. So it is very conservative and implies Cleveland got a great deal--and it looks like they got Chubb with that pick to boot. Using this conservative figure, the #2 pick is thus worth about $74 million, the #23 pick is worth about $22 million and next years say #10 pick is worth $37 million for a total of about $133M. For that you get the privilege of 3 years of Watson at about $80M. So we're at about $213M for 3 years of Watson.

I have nothing to go on, but it feels like Watson is trying to get himself somewhere that he knows a player or two that he wants to team up with will join him. I know that's more of an NBA thing, but the repeated likes and comments from other players seems suspicious.
My sticking point with Watson is not that I don’t want him, my sticking point is how much will it cost. 2021(2nd overall) and 2022(1). That’s all I would give up for him, not Jets job to bail out Texans. This is my last post on Watson, going off to read other good threads on TGG.
