I don't think there's really that many levels in the NFL anymore. Half the league is between 9-7 and 7-9 and often the playoffs comes down to who is hot and who is healthy. When we're healthy, namely Chad, we get there and take our shot, when we aren't we don't come close. You can say the same thing for just about every team except New England.
No, but when a team wins, and the same people post the same negative arm strength posts, ignoring all the good the team has accomplished, then it can appear that way.
I think controversial topics such as "Should this guy be our QB" or "Should this guy be our HC" tend to polarize the board as there are such a volume of posts about the subject you're almost bound to read something you completely disagree with. Then maybe you take an extreme or adversial POV to fight what you see as a ridiculous opinion being posted all over the board. Just as an example, while you may see the same negative arm strength posts ignoring all the good Pennington has accomplished, I may see the same people defending Chad at all costs, and seeming more interested in keeping Chad as the starter then trying to improve the team. I understand the reaction, it's just a shame when it gets in the way of honest debate and/or devolves into a game of "you're not a real fan if you believe this".
The only thing I would say to that Tony is for the most part, negative posts about Chad after a win are because someone decides to start a thread saying things like "ok..where are the haters now". What they feel to realize is 1. we are right here...and 2. our opinion of Chad wont change because its not the person or his will to win..its his arm strength. Im not a big Chad fan...and would never open up after a big win saying Chad sucked..as most "haters" of Chad wouldnt do.
And then I responded that none of them were season finales with a playoff spot on the line against a horrible team.
Have you watched him play? Of course he can throw the 20 yard out, he does it all the time. How many QBs throw a 40 yard out? Chad has lost a little off the arm since the beginning of the year but he is playing a full slate for the first time and is coming off 2 surgeries, he should be even stronger next year. Of course, when we win it's in spite of Chad and when we lose it's b/c of Chad. it's the herm nonsense all over again.
