No prob. You can delete my last post in the LaFleur thread so it can fade back into obscurity and the new thread becomes the staff thread.
we have a Miles Austin, we have a Mike Lafleur thread already... can a mod merge the threads and retitle SALEH's STAFF?
I agree. I like that JD didn't go the easy route and just go with one of his friends, but I don't have a problem with Saleh bringing in LaFleur. For one thing, if he's anywhere near as smart and competent as his older brother, he's going to be a darned good OC for us. I like having a young, energetic, creative CS. Older coaches tend to be more conservative. I'm sure that there will be some growing pains and mistakes, but that's ok. They're human and even the best, most experienced coaches make mistakes. The Jets team is going to be very young, and I actually think having a young CS will be a big plus. They can grow together. If we can just get decent QB play, the next 2-3 years could be very exciting and a lot of fun.
If you need some cheering up. Seattle is talking to Gase for their oc position. Him reunited with Adams would make my whole year.
I didn't know anything about the Jets's new assistants so decided to look them up. Greg Knapp Wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Knapp Greg Knapp is an experienced coach, so I guess that is at least one area where he is bringing in an experienced coach. He's 57. Between 1986 and 1994, he was the RB Coach, WR Coach, Asst. HC and OC at Sacramento St. Between 1997-2003 he was the Offensive Quality Control Coach, QB Coach and OC for the NIners. He was the OC for the Atlanta Falcons from 2004-2006 and supposedly helped develop Michael Vick. He was the Raiders' OC in 2007-2008 and again in 2012. In 2009 he was the Seahawks' OC. In 2010-2011 he was the Texans OC and supposedly helped make Matt Schaub a better QB. From 2013-2016 he was the Broncos' QB Coach. He was the Falcons' QB Coach from 2018-2020.
Are you fucking kidding me? Do they not look at the stats of what his offences have delivered, I really can't believe he is being interviewed so soon after this disgrace and right on the back of Miami as well.
Thanks. There is a great link on Benton on the new tread about him teaching a class on the style of OL we will use. Extremely informative. FYI. Calabrese came from Denver, two years as Quality control for the offense. The QB coach came from the Falcons serving in that capacity over the last couple of years.
Adam is probably on the phone to JD as we speak for a friendly long term deal under a no shit Defensive mind. LOL
John Benton - OL Coach and Run Game Coordinator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Benton_(American_football) Benton has been an OL Coach for most of his career. He started out in the college ranks as a Grad Asst. at Colorado St. (his alma mater) from 1987-1989, then was at California Univ. as the Recruiting Coordinator from 1990-1994, then went back to Colorado St. as OL Coach from 1995-2002. He was then the Rams OL Coach from 2003-2005, the Texans' OL Coach from 2006 - 2013, then the Dolphins' OL Coach in 2014-2015, the Jaguars' Asst. OL Coach in 2016, and then the Niners' OL Coach from 2017-2020.
Well they won't be when Gase rocks up. Maybe we should hold off drafting a QB and pick up Wilson next year when he has seen enough and demands a trade
Yeah, nepotism is a much better word for this. On the other hand, how much closer to OC can you get than a guy was half an OC? And now it's been filled out with two guys for passing and two for running. These guys have a lot of experience. Now let's see what happens with the D and who's going to call those plays.
@Brook you guys gotta stop being NEW thread Nazis I’m sure this would be a great new thread but we are all trying to keep it compressed- why? For what purpose? stop this bs please other Jets sites are crushing you.... Smarten up if you want to grow
