Schefter just said on ESPN that he expects Saleh and LaFleur will want to keep Sam Darnold. If you keep the guy, trade the pick and stockpile everything. Do not take Sewell or Smith at 2 like a buncha idiots.
I was unsure about, Saleh. Then I started researching. The more I researched, the more I got excited. I have a fantastic feeling about this hire. This HC/GM duo has a lot of promise In my opinion. Listen.. It may not work out. That's the SOJ way. ..but, I am choosing to allow myself to be excited. I haven't felt "excitement" In a long time now. I actually feel It at this time and It feels great to say that. I'm happy, for the first time In a long time, I'm happy and optimistic for our future. God I hope this all works out. It's been long enough for all of us.
100% agree and I think they should take a QB at 2 to reset the money, but if the incoming coaching staff thinks their system will work best with Sam, then so be it. I'm just sharing what Schefter said.
Didn’t really have a preference on the HC but wanted someone new. but am happy with the selection. I think it’s best we trade our #2 pick to get mor picks and get a balance offensive and defensive side of the ball.

I will say that this offense could be one of the very few Darnold could succeed in, for what it's worth.
Since Shanahan was hired, they have not had an OC. Shanahan has run the offense. A few years ago, Shanahan hired LaFleur as Passing Game Coordinator and Mike McDaniel as the Run Game Coordinator.
