Not you, the tweet reads like org spin because they're getting skewered. Again until other evidence comes forward it's on the org to prove they didn't fuck up. They've earned no right to get the benefit of the doubt.
so i just started here yesterday... and my IGNORE list is growing.... most Jetfans are intolerable. whiny and low football iq... a a noxious blend
Too much speculation here. And rightfully so. I am not going to be pissed for following reasons. - Maybe Jets really want to do in person interviews with more than 1 person and are willing to take the risk of losing out on Saleh. - Maybe Saleh agreed to fly over after agreeing with the Jets that he wouldn't answer them before sitting down with Eagles as well. Maybe it is a fair game. Saleh also deserves to sit down with another franchise and maybe Jets respected this. - Maybe Saleh didn't impress Joe D enough and he didn't sign. Not going to jump to conclusions. Let's move onto the next in person interview. Bring in Joe Brady please
I agree that C. Johnson deserves no benefit of the doubt, but JD does, and he's the one conducting the search and in charge of the hire.
I’m amazed as to how many here are getting upset based on speculative comments on Twitter from an unheard nobody that immediately attributes it to a botched job by JD or Chris. Why don’t we wait until we get the facts from people that are actually reputable or better from our own GM, as opposed to some wanna be low level Twitter turd. I actually did root very hard for Saleh, but if he didn’t fit JD expectations or wanted something different, well let’s just move on to the next top guy.
I want to believe that he's in charge and that Johnson has nothing to do with the process beyond signing a check, but I am concerned that's not the case. And for everyone saying relax, wait for stuff to come out, it's not out of some made up beliefs that has no basis in reality. This shit has been happening for the better part of 10 years now.
Breath deeply, Breath deeply, Breath deeply. Now that you (collectively) have calmed down can you let the process playout, please? The only facts I know is they flew him back, he interviewed with team and owner. That is it. Anything else is speculation based on opinions not facts. I am with NC, get the facts. One more point, that may have been made already. JD is meticulous and I am pretty sure e did his homework prior to end of the season when they made the decision to fire AG.
The Falcons let Smith leave his 2nd interview without a deal and he's their #1 according to reports, just like Saleh is the Jets #1 according to reports. In reality, these "2nd" interviews are really the first. First time they see the facility and interact in person. There is something to be said for face to face interaction. Just wait and see what happens. Both Saleh and Smith agreed to interviews with other teams and won't go back on their word. For guys like Rhule, the Jets were his last interview.
I get it. Hang in there, my friend. Hopefully, we'll be rewarded. If not we can storm the new HQ and sack it. LOL
This is spot on. What we are seeing is that there are a few candidates who are getting second interviews in multiple places, including two so far for the Jets. There are also some still in play-offs, who I hope will lose this weekend. I still think Jets will finish the search next week, particularly if Bills and Rams lose. Then we can have a better idea if they did a botched job or not.
Belichik has always pushed team first and stars second and when Brady started pushing back against that after years of being underpaid Belichik started pushing him out the door. I do believe that Belichik cannot win without Brady.
I think the fact that he stayed overnight and continued into today is what has most people miffed about this (at least that's my issue). If he came in at 11am and left late afternoon I don't think I'd be making as big a deal. The fact that he stayed over and had more meetings today made it seem like things were advancing fast. I guess we'll see what happens with Smith tonight. If he comes and stays too then maybe that's just how they are operating.
