Not even close to the same scenario. Rhule wanted his own staff and Mac said no. Douglas has been on record saying he will provide information and opinions on potential staff, he will not pick them.
I agree the facts are different but the results and the dissapointment may end up the same with Jets embarrassed and always a bridesmaid. In the Rhule case it might have been worse as we had a brief window where it was reported there was an agreement. But, here we had Douglas and expected him to be able to close the deal. But, regardless we are much better off than 2018 in that we still have alternatives we like and will not higher another Gase. My Jet anxiety still rears its ugly head fearing that all the candidates we like will turn us down like dominoes.
applied? i dont think so. more like jets asked to interview. he wants to be a h/c. am not saying anythings is a good sign. i am just stating that we oughtnt assume a guy will take the job b/c we offered it.
Not too concerned about this. The Eagles are a total dumpster fire with the Wentz contract. That's the job you take when it becomes clear no one else is going to offer you one.
No offence but why are you sending me names from the past about players I couldn't give a fuck about? Again, it changes nothing in what I said, I never even called Darnold an FQB in the post for starters, just that we fucked him over and gave him the Gase and Loggains show, Mahomes wouldn't have survived that either.
Agree with you here. None of the coaches we've interviewed have that Adam Gase stench; all the real candidates are young, up and coming coaches.
Hi this is the JEts do you want an interview for our HC position. YES/NO You got to be interested to say yes or it is pretty weird and time wasting for yourself and the interviewers, spending two days interviewing if you're not interested is even odder. I very much doubt the contract details were left until the last 30 minutes of day 2. I just think it is a bad sign after that length of time for him to walk away unsigned, I doubt he will be our HC now. Of course, the Jets may well have said we are interviewing 3 or 4 people and tbh I would really have hoped that was the case, unless one of the guys comes across as exactly what you want early in the interview process then get him nailed down and start moving this pissing franchise forward.
It's all speculation at this point. For all we know RS could have told the jets he wants to listen to Philly's offer (if any) before he makes up his mind. He could be playing the jets and philly (and other teams) against each other to get more money. All things equal, THAT is what I would advise him to do if I was his agent.
As a card-carrying Darksider I'm not worried about Saleh leaving without an announced deal. It tells me that Douglas knows what he's looking for and what he's willing to spend, and the conditions he'll accept. There are still other good candidates - I'd prefer Pederson and Smith, and Saleh may still return.
I would definitely be happy if Saleh left with the contract, he certainly has credentials I am happy with, but it's not the end of the world if JD wants to look at someone else as well. I suspect that someone is Daboll. We need to be rooting for Buffalo to lose this Saturday, then JD will be able to interview him and have a choice. I think if they win, he will not risk losing Saleh and waiting another week, because I am pretty sure Saleh will be a HC next week.
mistake...should have never let him leave the building. I think this guys is gonna be a good one. A leader of Men (if that's PC to say?).
