It’s a joke, I don’t care what people believe, even though I can be intolerant of certain things like hypocrisy or just BS.

I do respect people’s free will whether they use it for good or bad. I do believe in consequences as well though.

Generally speaking I do say what others are thinking, people I work with and my neighbors know I’m not a politically correct person, sensitive and respectful yes, PC no.

Would your stance change on Saleh if he brings in one of the SF coordinators with him?

I personally would love a Saleh HC, Mike LaFleur (SF Passing Game Coordinator) OC combo.

This is starting to feel a little bit like the Rhule situation, though I'm telling myself to calm down, that they learned their lesson from that stupidity.

In my opinion JD is much better than Mac, I do believe he won’t be hired today though, Saleh would be doing himself a disfavor by not interviewing with other teams who have interest in him and seeing how he would fit in with other organizations.

The fact that Douglas flat out said the new coach needs to be able to hire his own staff makes me forget all about the Rhule situation. At least that's how I'm rationalizing it.

yes and no. JD simply has to say if he doesn't sign that's unfortunate and they're moving on and no guarantee spot will be open if he circles back

obviously they can't force him to sign and it's Saleh's choice but the notion of investigating other options isn't always a positive

He can always tell JD I have to talk this over with my wife, it’s a big decision that affects everyone. JD can still bring someone else in and not make it an ultimatum for Saleh as well.

It should not be an adversarial meeting, both parties know what’s at stake here. Jets and Saleh should not make each other feel like it’s gun to your head situation.

I don't know man, it seems like it might be happening.

We got Joe Douglas and it's looking extremely likely that we land Saleh. Dare I say it, things are looking up for us...

Signs point to the Jets hiring Robert Saleh
Posted by Mike Florio on January 13, 2021, 9:42 AM EST
With 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh getting a second interview with the Jets for their vacant coaching position, Saleh now appears to be the favorite.

As Chris Simms said during Wednesday’s PFT Live, the talk in coaching circles is that the Jets are moving toward hiring Saleh.

Saleh has proven to be a great coach, but his hiring by the Jets would come with an important caveat. The Jets need to develop quarterback Sam Darnold, who has fallen far behind three of his 2018 first-round peers: Baker Mayfield (taken before Darnold), Josh Allen (taken after Darnold), and Lamar Jackson (taken well after Darnold).

All three of them will be playing this weekend. So if the Jets get a defensive coach who hires an offensive coordinator who gets Darnold to the final eight in 2021 or 2022, then what? The offensive coordinator gets a head-coaching job elsewhere, quite possibly.

So, as the Jets and Saleh apparently move toward quite possibly striking a deal, both sides need to have a plan for the worst-case scenario resulting from the best-case scenario: Having things go so well that whoever it is that gets the most out of Darnold gets a head-coaching job elsewhere.

    cant post links yet

I love these media guys who are so transparently desperate to cover their asses regarding Sam.

Lol I gotta agree with this. We have people unironically citing him yelling on the sidelines as a reason we should hire him. There are ways to motivate people other than yelling loudly.

They are sooooo out of touch with where the team is at currently. As if our primary concern is finding someone to develop Darnold

It’s not that he’s yelling, it’s his personal expression of focus and intensity. It’s not about yelling or being stoic or any one thing in particular. It’s about being genuine and authentic to yourself. If that’s who Saleh genuinely is, it’s a positive. If it’s just a persona, it’s a negative. It’s certainly looks genuine to me.
