GM's don't coach the senior bowl. He and the entire scouting department will be in attendance (Covid permitting). Sucks that we likely won't have a coaching staff there but that's out of his control unless he kept Gase.

We may or may not. but add one of Robinson, Godwin, Golladay or Davis in FA and then draft a WR, add another TE who can catch and a starting RB who is a good receiver, and our WR corps isn't looking so bad IF we have a QB.

Sorry I can’t agree with this ridiculous theory

    if you have a pick

best to have it as high as possible no?

More choice, more leverage whether you take advantage of it or not

You’re caught up in “looking good” over having choice of “anything you want”

With regards to the bold, you're flat out wrong. Crowder is a proven WR and Mims showed his ability this year, and with a full offseason, no hammy issues, I expect him to have a big season this year. J. Smith showed some flashes this past year in a backup role and Berrios made some plays too.

The WR room didn't help Darnold, but it's not the reason he's bad. It has nothing to do with his inability to see the whole field, to read Ds, to make good decisions, to know when to throw ball away, his poor mechanics and lousy footwork.

    Nobody wants #2?
    Smith has size issues?
    JD's mistakes for having #2?

Are you sure you know what you are talking about??

I respect your opinion, but our WRs just suck! Crowder is overpaid slot, that deals with drops. But agree he is good functional nfl player! Not exceptional. Mims is an unknown, he had a few good catches and showed some promise, but surely not exceptional if or yet, the rest are marginal at best! Name another team with worse WRs. I don’t know of any. I watched every jets game. It was embarrassment some weeks what we put out there! It was hard to watch!

To be quite frank, we have not had good WR corps since 2015-16! Really sad.

Now if we sign robinson, draft smith or chase, retain crowder, and mims develops, now we are talking potentially one of the best!

Now if we rolled out that corps next year, opponents D would feel it needed to respect us, and not put so many in the box. Could open up our offense for first time in years.

Yes our WRs have sucked for years. I truly believe however that JD is going to upgrade our offensive skill position players this year between FA and the draft. If he doesn't, then I'll be done with this team.

I think if we get a high FA #1 WR and draft a top WR, I think JD would accomplish the upgrade for yrs to come. That’s the hope, If so watching jet football may again become exciting!!!

Not sure I agree with you on how bad our WRs are but I do agree its been since Marshall/Decker that we've had a real threatening core.

If we picked Smith we wouldn't even need Robinson. He would take the #1DB off Mims in man and they'd still need help with him. Crowder would thrive going under the radar and Smith and Crowder are so good at exploiting zones that teams would be having fits.

Smith, Mims, and Crowder could be as good a top 3 as any team has. Picking Chase at 2 would have an immediate and big impact on our passing game.

A few with comparatively bad WR rooms

Pats - Worst in the league. They don’t even have anyone as good as Crowder.
Ravens - Outside of Brown, they don’t have any competent WR.
Jaguars - Chark and Shenault is promising.
Colts - Hilton isn’t the same guy, Pittman around same level as Mims.
Giants - Shepherd is comparable to Crowder, Slayton up and down similar to Perriman.
Wash - Auto better bc they have a Top 10 WR, but awful outside of McLaurin.
Eagles - Reagor showed nothing. Travis Fulgham was by far their best WR this year.

Yes they are not good, but sending out berrios and Jeff smith as starters, well that is worst to me, I understand injury. But really.

Crowder is not #1 receiver, and dealt with injuries. The teams you mention had arguably a legit #11 at some point.

Pats, Giants and Eagles are the ones in contention with the Jets for worst, and never had anything resembling a W1, which I define as a very good outside WR.

Giants had slayton and Shepard, both had several high catch games. Not great but better than jets as a whole.

Philly, they are pretty close to jet bad, Alston and Jackson, over the hill and injured.

Pats had same crew, with Edelman, but ravaged by injury and no Brady. They were jet bad by end of season.

They had Edelman before getting injured. Meyers had career game against the jets! Lol

We are in a fantastic spot. We have our choice of every single player in the draft except Trevor Lawrence. How in the world is that a bad spot and worse than drafting 4-12?

The problems we have are great problems to have. The truth is no matter how this comes out, in the end good things are coming to us.
