The guy is the game changer the Jets need If Darnold had a player like that he would be a different QB period. The fact is The Jets have not drafted a game changing WR since the 80s with Toon and Walker they always draft a OL or Defensive player in the first and hope they can catch lightning in the bottle in later rounds love to see them do somthing they haven't done in years grab a game changing WR with a strong work ethic like Smith I know that won't happen but it was nice dreaming about it. Don't want to hear about Justin Fields the guy looked like a deer stuck in headlights Alabama is a NFL team if he can't play them what will he look like in the NFL.

Probably not the best move from a team building standpoint.

Either take a shot at QB or trade down. One blue-chip position player won’t do anything for this team (see Jamal).

If the Falcons really want Fields at 2, you can move back to 4 and grab Sewell or one of the top WRs. If we're not in love with one of the QBs, that's our ideal scenario.

I don’t see a QB safe enough to expend the #2 overall draft capital on.

Prefer drafting a blue chip player or even better trading down for a haul of picks.

I think we are a ways away from getting better evaluations of the 1st round QBs. But, at this point I agree. All the QBs other than Lawrence seem to have major flaws and come with a lot of risk. My guess is in 3 years out of the Fields, Lance and Wilson 1 will be out of the league, 1 will no longer be a starter and likely only one will still have a a chance of being a long time NFL starting QB. At this point I like the sure thing of a blue chipper over a long shot QB over performing on a bad team.

  7. Very good player but not quite on the top 5 pick WR level. Chase from LSU is likely the better prospect & was just as impressive in last year’s national title.

Trading down is really the only option other than Sewell. MAYBE Pitts if he has a ridiculous combine? Hes a potential transcendent player w his skillset..wouldnt be popular w this fan base though

If they trade down to the 5-10 range and he's still there, I agree. No way should you draft a WR at #2 this year, especially with how deep this WR class is.

Wonderful player but not very big. Will be tough to keep healthy. Trade down and get a haul.

The recency bias with Smith is real. Last night was a very unimpressive 200 yard performance.

I wonder if everyone who suddenly hates Fields at 60% last night had the same thoughts about Lawrence after last year's championship game versus LSU? Flanked by him starting the year with 59 completions/97 attempts (61%), 5 touchdowns, 5 interceptions against the 104th, 38th (solid) and 88th ranked defenses in NCAAF.

  12. There’s also alittle too much Elite program bias that gets worse every yr. There are very good prospects that dont attend Bama,OSU & Clemson.

No because Lawrence is a "generational" talent, he just played a great team.

It's totally not like Fields had an okay game against one of the greatest CFB teams in history with some sort of rib injury that was clearly impacting his performance.

I like Smith and think he will be a solid player but if the Jets draft him at 2 I will bash my head into a wall.

He was slow as hell I wouldn't consider him a true game changing player good red zone target but he wasn't much of a threat.

You either take Fields at 2 which would be my preference or you trade down. Those are the only options.

The Jets will be wasting the value of the two pick by using it on any other position than QB.

Hope everyone is right because Dolohins will take him at 3 Jets will have to face him 2 to 3 times a year.

Sewell would be the RT, and 4 is too high for that position. I'd go with the latter option: WR.
