I'm going to try to resist the Smith recency bias and say it would still be crazy for us to take a WR at #2 overall. If we don't like a QB the move is to trade back. Fields hasn't looked good this game but it was just a couple weeks ago we were anointing him our savior. I'm still not sure he will be a good QB in the NFL but I'm not ready to say he'd be a bad pick at #2. A strategy involving trading down and trying to get a different QB intrigues me as well. I think we absolutely still need to take a QB in the first round at some point.
No. It only would have flipped if we had tied with Jacksonville and they get the #1 pick on a tiebreaker.
Tyreek Hill is probably a good compare to DeVanta. Their both kind a tiny but fast a fk and make HUGE plays.
Smith has Randy Moss hands, some of the balls he catches are like a magic trick. Add razor sharp cuts and a genius football IQ and I'll take that any day over a super-athlete like Chase. We have more problems than wide receiver if the Jets can't see him as an elite prospect.
lol ur gonna see this same post like 3 pages from yours! I agree with you though, Tyreek comes to mind. Watch what he does this weekend against the Brownies and ask yourself: How sweet would it be to have THAT on the Jets!!!
It's an absolute joke that Saban is letting Waddle play tonight. He limped off his first play and he puts him back in? Shameful.
He most certainly does. Look at those skinny arms and legs. A big hit in the NFL could break him in half. It's be just our dumb luck to take him #2 and he suffers a career-ending injury his rookie season. Meanwhile, Justin Fields goes on to become a HOF QB
So Fields was incredible in the semis, got all our hopes up, and is now letting us down in the championship. He's already the perfect Jet. Draft this beast! (Or is it bust?)
its the National Championship, its not a just a game. If he wants to play, let him. And I suspect he really wants to be out there
