I dont want him tbh...he seems to be a product of a great team and system. I would throw the ball in Devontae's direction and just pad my stats too. Everytime I see Smith's scrawny legs I get worried. He needs to add some muscles down there, the NFL grind may lead to injuries...But he also could be the next AJ Green
I doubt #2, but I wouldn't be surprised - or unhappy - if JD used the 2nd Seattle pick or the 2nd rounder on him.
Mac Jones will be an interesting prospect. He comes with the same question marks that Alabama quarterbacks of recent past come with especially because of his supporting cast. But he analyzes plays very quickly and can go through progressions as good as anyone. He has enough of an NFL arm although not phenomenal. Might make a team very happy on Day 2 or 3 as a competing backup. His athleticism kills his stock. He bears resemblance to AJ McCarron and Jake Coker but his mind definitely seems to be more advanced than those guys.
He has all day to throw and has receivers open with ridiculous separation. I don’t think he’s a legit NFL prospect.
I'll say one thing about the Pennington-Mac Jones comparison - that play fake was near identical to Chad's.
Definitely projects as more of a backup than anything. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a ten year career in that role. If Charlie Whitehurst did it, he can too. Limited upside though for sure.
I would only consider Mac Jones with the Seattle pick. But it’s starting to look like a strong Qb class
How do you not cover Smith, OSU, and what is with trying to tackle Harris up around the shoulders? Totally stupid! Either poor coaching or lousy playing.
