1st time in 10 years seattle will pick inside the top 25. Now we just need Urban Meyer to draft Fields to Jax.
C’mon for a 25 year old proven franchise QB? With 5 years of control and pre-paid signing bonus? You’ll never find a better deal than that in the NFL.
Does Deshaun's ability to move look anything similar to what Chad's arm strength looked like post-injury?
Why is that now? 99% of this board hyperventilated for TL for months as undisputed #1 and when we lost the first pick were devastated. Has everyone now hitched the wagon to Fields? Did it take one game to change this board? Seems a bit drastic. If they are both that close we might be in great shape o matter what.
It still hurts me that we are likely not getting Trevor Lawrence, but at some point you gotta move on. I guess what made me feel a bit better was that bowl game. I get that Ohio State is better than Clemson but we saw the two QBs play each other and Fields had the the better game. Lawrence is still a better NFL prospect but if he were transcendent then he would have won that game. So I think with the right supporting cast Fields can be really good.
@legler82 is truly our QB guru. 4 years ago, I heard about Mahomes for the first time from him. At that time he wasn’t even in anybody’s radar. He also called out Watson as a great QB. He picked Allen above Darnold, Mayfield, Rosen This gives him credibility. And he says both Lawrence and Fields are very good and very close prospects. He also liked Fields better than Lawrence at some point. So after reading him, I feel much relieved. I still would love Lawrence but happy with Fields as well.
"MORE than FQB" means you have the FQB too, no? Goff was the first overall pick, former Bro Bowler. Let's get a Pro Bowl QB too, like both of these teams have, and then add MORE. On another note, the way Seattle started, it looked like we may be picking in the 30s, maybe very late 20s at best. 24th pick (or if we are lucky 23d) is really the best case scenario!
I don't think it's affected his ability to run, but when you have a guy that's mobile like he is with that much ACL scar tissue, it becomes a bigger risk. I wouldn't be worried if it were Brady or Rivers or Bridgewater.
It wasn't going to be 27th, it was going to be 21st-32nd depending on how SEA did in the playoffs. That it is going to be no worse than 24th is a big win.
