No, I hadn't, thanks! I had heard from Kurt and others how cheap the Browns are, how they didn't even have a Scouting Dept., and other crazy stuff like that. That's why I wanted to know more about Davis. Ideally, we hire someone younger who can be here a long time if successful. The next best thing, however, may be hiring an old hand like Davis who could establish the culture, be a CEO, and who could bring in good young coordinators to run the offense and defense. He could groom one or both of them to take over for him when he retires in 3-5 years.
I do think that Douglas is a difference maker, as is probably the amount of draft capital that Douglas has accumulated and the cap space that would be at their disposal. It could also be that he's getting tired of trying to compete with the OSUs and Michigans who get better talent and have more resources. I would also be surprised, if not shocked, if he doesn't like Fields.
Day has been floated out there for the NFL but he might be in it until they win a National Championship at Ohio State. They certainly have the means to do so too and I don't see them beating Alabama on Monday. Which is good for Campbell's availability.
Yeah but I'd rather be in southern California with the rookie of the year QB, and Bosa, Ingram, James on def
I know he's not going to be the most popular idea but I'm glad we've requested an interview with Brandon Staley
That's the best job there is out there. A team full of good players. Do you want to be in Kansas div though? Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
I got so wrapped up in the last two searches. I'm spending this one on the sidelines. To avoid disappointment. Such a mix with everyone wanting someone different. Whoever we get is going to split opinion all over. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
I don’t know about Daboll.. Allen and Diggs are just special players.. Diggs ran down the field and Allen put it on him today like it was nothing
Yeah if he takes this job, I'm gonna throw this up to Douglas being in charge and the ability to get Fields.
Great question-- -He's a CEO type -I live in FL and he's very well respected at UF -He has done well with less than stellar talent, his weakness is recruiting, which he doesn't have to do in NFL -Only 48 -Helped rebuild Mississippi State and UF -Mentored several young QB's (Tebow, Dak, Trask, Alex Smith) -Learned from Meyer Looks like we might not interview him now, but well see
Yikes-- I really hope I'm wrong on this, but I have a sinking feeling we might wind up with a very pedestrian choice at HC.
