Yeah, he is currently suspended, I guess the peds stopped his hamstring from popping this year. Unfortunate consequencies.
Personally, I can't see Davis signing for 10 per. Someone will overpay on the potential. I do think he'll be a very good receiver wherever he goes, regardless
You definitely could be right. I know nothing about player contract values and what they're likely to get. I was just going by what Spotrac has as his market value, and figured since they cover FAs in all sports, they would have a pretty accurate idea of what he could get. Also, don't forget that most teams will be over the cap and will have to renegotiate contracts and cut players to get under the cap. No one else may be able to pay him even $10 million outside of Jacksonville, and if Arthur Smith is our HC or if we do have Justin Fields or Watson at QB he could prefer to sign with us over another team. Of course if Jacksonville has interest, with Lawrence at QB, that could sway him to sign with Jacksonville. With acting as GM however, who knows what he will do? He could be very cheap or he spend foolishly.
I actually don’t think we are going to break the bank this year. It doesn’t make sense to have to overpay for players to play here and unfortunately because we were the league’s punching bag this year that’s what it will take. I think JD takes a shrewd approach this year. Fills a few holes with a few vets.
Allen Robinson is every bit the route runner and receiver Diggs is. He would be my number one target to help whoever our QB is.
Expect a guard for the running game, a wide receiver and a corner in FA. A solid tight end wouldn't hurt. No one over 27 or 28.
Though not free agents, I would pick the Saints roster They are 90 million over the cap and we have cap room
Unfortunately Robinson's been subtly dissing the Bears QB situation on social media for the past couple years. He's made his money - I doubt he goes anywhere without a proven quarterback at this point. Tough to blame him though playing with Bortles and Trubisky for his entire 7 year career.
Yeah, this is exactly what I am afraid of. Can't imagine he wants to play with Darnold or a rookie, may depend on the HC we pick. I don't want Bienemy but if hiring him brings Watson and Watson brings Allen...
I still think the #2 pick plus our second #34 and Seattle's first next year might do it. Problem is it's a moot point if he doesn't want to come here.
Bad enough using pick 2 to roll the dice on a QB. Going all in on Watson is not how we should build this team.
For a perennial pro bowler and arguably the 3rd best QB in the NFL? Not to mention keeping him from the fins, oh yeah, I would go all in. And he's 25 years old.
I would rather have our young team to be receiving a boatload of picks than giving them away. We have a bunch of holes to fill and have zero depth behind those holes.
