I would be fine with EB. Andy Reid swears he’s going to be a good head coach and he’s got a great track record.
Every coach is going to say that about their guys. It's like a fighter's trainer saying he's in the best shape of his life and he expects him to dominate. Means very little and it's very self-serving by the guy paying the compliment.
So far the "Andy Reid Tree" has produced alot sweeter fruit than the "Bellichek Tree" (and waaaay more cheese steaks too)
The Johnson 90 yard run was actually during Pete Carroll’s “reign” in 1994. A footnote on the 90 yard run - it did not result in any points!
According to this review on Eberflus, he is strictly a Tampa Cover 2 D guy. Do we have the personnel to play that? If he's the pick, I can see many of the draft choices going to the D to make the switch. They spoke of possibly making big changes in the front 7, and the DL is the strength of our D. Q Williams would fit, and some of the other guys, but probably not Mosley and some of the others. Also, so far, our connections with the Colts have paid zero benefits. I'm thinking that maybe Rex Hogan isn't so great in the FO. If it is true, that we would have to change over a lot of personnel on D, imo it would really stupid to hire Eberflus. This is the mistake that the Jets have made time after time after time when hiring new HCs. The new coaches have made wholesale changes in systems and we've had to gut the roster and start over. Another thing that concerns me is getting his D players to run to the football on every play. As is mentioned in the discussion, is that the second half of the season the D's play has dropped off, and it's probably because they're tired. That's not what you need as you reach the playoffs or are trying to get into the playoffs. I think he would be a horrible hire.
Fauria and Bieniemy know each other through Colorado U. If fauria knows something it’s not from the Jets end.
The Jets actually have a few pieces that could translate very well to cover 2. Bryce Hall, Marcus Maye, Ashtyn Davis, and Quinnen Williams would all make a great transition. I like 3-4 but I would be fine with the change if Eberflus comes in. Other D-Linemen could switch too but all of the players I listed have skill sets for a great transition.
For those who want to hurry, remember that there are 3 teams in contention who need to work on GM’s too, plus Houston seems like a mess so the Jets main competition is actually really the Chargers right now.
Sorry, I forgot that you were calling the shots on the Jets and knew more than JD or Chris Johnson about the Jets' schedule for hiring the new HC. SMH
Found this interesting. Not sure how accurate it is but nonetheless, it's interesting. It could explain why someone who has interviewed for head coaching jobs multiple times in the past 3 seasons still doesn't have a job. Maybe that Mahomes endorsement was "Peyton Manning" like. EDIT: To add to this, the article also states Saleh didn't interview well with Detroit.
