ZERO percent chance that he comes to the Jets. JD should enquire if there is any possibility, but let's be realistic. He will require a kings ransom and the Jets do not have that available with all the holes in the roster. Watson will also probably have some say in where he goes. Why the fuck would he want to come to the Jets?

For whatever it's worth, the 2019 Jets are 10-6 with a healthy Watson versus that schedule. Gase or not. I think it's fair to say we're likely 7-9 this year with him as well. He had one more than double our passing touchdowns and half the amount of interceptions.

I have an extraordinary amount of confidence that he could've out dualed Duck Hodges and some of the other loser offenses we beat last year (even though we won that Steelers game).

I don't think Watson throws WR screens and 3 yard outs THAT much better than Sam....

In all seriousness, he went 4-12 with a far better team in Houston so I don't know how much he could have done here considering we have the worst offensive scheme in football and little to no skill position talent,.

I doubt that he would want to come here, but if he was willing, and Douglas could swing it without emptying the cupboard, it would be a great move.

I don't think Watson would listen to the QB Whisperer - sort of like a younger version of Peyton Manning.

This is getting a lot of legs here guys. This Watson thing may just happen.

I'm getting chills thinking about having Watson.

I was a huge Watson antagonist going into his draft. I just didn't think he had an NFL arm. Boy was I wrong. He is a winner and a leader of men.

You're probably right, but he'd still be surrounded by a team worse than the one he played for.

Well that's the key... it's getting a lot of legs HERE. Who knows what it is in reality. We have no idea if Houston will even entertain offers and if they do, how much they'll ask for and if Douglas even stays on the line to say "no thanks".

Houston promised him input in the hiring of the GM and didn't afford that opportunity. Additionally he asked them to interview Bieniemy and they didn't.

People like Watson don't come back from two slaps in the face. Too much integrity.

very interesting......another poster (forget who) and myself mentioned this a few weeks ago as the jets should at least make a call to houston.

let's see how far it goes.

I have no doubt that Watson wants to be moved and will tell the Texans as much, I just also have no doubt that either the Texans will say no or the price tag will be Sam, two firsts and two seconds.

I'm sure that's what Houston will ask for, (at least), but they're not going to get it. Watson is in a strong bargaining position and other teams know it. I think they'll get much less than this in the end. That said, I don't think the Jets will win the bidding, assuming JD participates which is unlikely. But we can dream at least, that's what we're really good at.

How is their team far better? He was sacked six more times than Jets quarterbacks. He has the worst defense in the NFL on his side and his rushing offense ranks 8 spots below the Jets and that's with him contributing 400+ yards on the ground.

He has an overpaid over the hill runningback just like the Jets and I think Cooks and Crowder cancel each other out.

So he has a better second receiver in Fuller for half the year and his team is magically better?

I really hope someone can keep this beast away from Miami. Don't think he would want to go to Jets. Even though Jets may be better than Houston now, it's still in the rebuild, and doubt it is a desirable trade destination until we can prove we can win. I hope I am wrong, but to me the best case scenario with Watson is that he does not end up in our division and even more ideally gets traded out of AFC.

we've heard that from many busts and watson wasn't highly touted. you never know until they actually make it in the NFL. nobody predicted a 6th round QB would become the best QB of all time. Tlaw could be a bust, could be average, could be good. all could. watson is already a top QB in the NFL

I can think of 60 mil reasons why the Texans won’t trade him.

Let’s just draft our own Watson, we do have the #2 pick after all.

I think if Houston makes a move with us they would trade for #2 and may be the type to draft Zach Wilson. Just a hunch

If the price tag is Sam, 2 1's and 2 seconds. I will drive Sam to the airport myself. We get a franchise changing QB and still have 2 first round picks in the next two years. Sounds great.

Their defense allows 30 points per game. Only Detroit is worse

If Huston trades Watson it will be because Watson demands a trade out of Dodge.

Huston MAY ship him out BUT they will need another QB to take his spot. So (Jets) will have to offer them Sam Darnold -or- our 2nd overall pick they can use on Trevor or Fields. That's just the starting point.

Their defense is terrible too and they already gave away their draft picks (they gave 2 firsts to Miami for LT Gas Mask Tunsil). So they'll need more draft capital beyond our 2nd overall. The deal we got for Jamal Adams would be a great start. 3 first round picks including the 2nd overall. Hmmm....that may be the best offer they get, and if Watson is demanding a trade, they may be forced to take it. They may also demand Quinnen Williams in the trade as well as all draft picks. Jets definitely have the ammo to get him, but I'd be surprised if JD goes this high cost route. Heck, JD may have already decided that Justin Fields is a better (and far cheaper) Deshawn Watson.

    Very interesting offseason!
