Sad to hear, however if reports are correct he’s going to get a position within organization. Hoping Ladd is gone soon, that would bring some cap relief.
Apparently his eye never quite came back after the injury on March 3. He reported in June that it "seems to be almost like 100%", but I guess the few games in the bubble disabused him of that notion.

So, other than bringing in Trotz (A+ move) and signing Lehner and trading him in him eventually for Sorokin (signing Lehner was an A move, ending up with Sorokin depends on how he does), what exactly has Lamoriello done for the Islanders? I continue to be unimpressed. Does anyone think that this team has a chance of making the Cup Finals as currently constituted? Because I sure don't. The talent level of this team is worse than when he came in when you take into account losing Tavares.
Hard to say. He inherited some pretty bad contracts that have hindered what he can bring in, but he also overpaid for Lee and Eberle. If he can trade one of them, for value, I’d say he is doing okay.
He attempted to sign Panarin as FA but he chose Rangers. He had to bring back Eberle and Lee, but yes you are right, Garth Snow gave out some terrible contracts which we knew were going to handicap this team.
Ultimately Lou is going to be judged on how well guys he refused to trade in ‘19, like Wahlstrom and Dobson, turn out. They could have potentially fetched pieces that brought back a Cup, so if they don’t become meaningful players it will be his biggest gaffe.
Walstrohm is going to be a big time player for this team, problem is playing time and as we mentioned, contracts. He’s not going to take the place of guys who have 4 years left on their contracts no matter how good he does.
My whole life Ive had family living on the backside of Belmont (walking distance)...... until the Isles get their own arena there
Isles have signed Barzal to a 3-year $21 million deal. I expected 2 years, but apparently Barzal wanted six years (not exactly betting on himself there). Anyway, hopefully he will finally upgrade his finishing skills around the net. https://eyesonisles.com/2021/01/09/islanders-sign-mathew-barzal-3-year-extension/
He’s talented but I think this deal is absolutely what he’s worth and it gets us through the cap hits of Ladd and Boychuk.
Saw that 24 E/W split many years when I lived on Long Island. How's the timetable for the new arena in Belmont ?
