I get why they are interviewing 3 OCs of the 3 best offenses in NFL, but why Matt Eberflus? I understand that he guided Colts defense from crap to respectable #11, #16, and #8 rankings in last 3 years, which is good and all, but is that enough to get HC considerations? Had a play-off win two years ago before losing divisional, missed play offs last year, and back in it now. Sounds like a solid defensive coordinator for sure, but a bit baffled why he is a candidate for a head coaching job?

Reports are saying Hardbaugh is intrested in the Jets job...And the Jets seem to have intrest also...Hes the only coach that can turn this ship around right away.

You gotta imagine he is interested so he can run a offense around Fields the way they did with Kaepernick

True, but they're allowing Douglas to head up the search and his opinion will mean the most. That has to mean something.

Either that or he can fix Darnold like he did Alex Smith...People forget Alex Smith was considered one of the biggest draft busts of all time up until Hardbaugh came around.

Gut says this is getting better..

A great Coach alone won't do it alone....maybe 50 percent of problems solved

The rest is about getting the best players starting with Filelds TL or Wilson

If Jim Harbaugh enters the mix what cultural change would occur with him at the helm. How was he with his players? I seem to remember he was a bit rough with the media and antagonistic with the GM

Hey guys as always thanks for all of the love from TGG! Feel free to move this to the Coach thread I just wanted to post it here first so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle and hopefully more people see it. This is a video I made about all of the big head coaching candidates from both the NFL and College ranks, and it was a fair amount of research and effort. Let me know what you all think!

I tried to post it earlier but I realized the video had a couple issues.

I think hiring a Power 5 HC makes a lot of sense in the Jets' situation, because they are as familiar with or are even more familiar with the players coming out in the next 3-4 drafts as any of the Jets' regional scouts and would give them a leg up on using the surplus of draft capital they have.

Hardbug is no exception, and it's probably why he'd have any interest in coaching for a tire fire like the Jets. I think my main reservation about Hardballs is that he is flighty enough and douchy enough to turn right around and bail after 2-3 years (just like Saban did to the Dolphins) and would probably land an 8 figure deal with another Power 5 school pretty easily based on his short time away and existing recruitment network and reputation. Hell, he might even dish some scouting info to John Hardbutt for players' on the Jets roster that could be poison pilled for a 2nd round tender like Welker was to Belichick.

I don't know if I trust Hardbone enough to have him be HC of the NYJ..

End of the day, it doesn't even matter.

"I want a brilliant up and coming college coach!!!"

"NO! I want a HC with NFL experience!!!"

"I want a defensive minded HC!!!"

"NO! I want an offensive HC!!!

"I want our HC to report here"

"NO! I want our HC to report there"

    "I want a CEO HC"

LOL. None of it matters, not even a little bit.

The ONLY thing that matters is the name scribbled on a post-it-note handed over to Roger Goodell at the podium. Until we get that part right, nothing else matters. Not even a little bit.
