I don't think Schotty deserved all the flack he got back in the day from all of us. It's not his fault Sanchez sucked. But I agree with you - not the right guy for the job given the history or the better potential candidates out there. That offense is a lot of Russell Wilson magic too that isn't anything related to scheme or coaching.
OK cool thanks. Yeah a few things when he was young, nothing too bad in the grand scheme of things (getting into a bar fight after someone called him a racial slur, a DUI, harrassing a parking attendant). If he had anything to do with the rape allegations against players at CU while he was on the coaching staff, I'd want to hear more about that, but no links that I saw. Edit to say that a DUI is bad, didn't mean to minimize that. But not entirely uncommon and I don't know the specifics of his case.
He doesnt call the plays Andy Reid Does.....Hes basically the middleman.Andy Tells him the plays and he speaks them through his microphone.
Look he would probably be better then Gase....But he is not what this team or the fanbase needs right now.We need someone everyones gonna get behind..
Well, he has a history of being, well, not so good. One good year doesn't just erase all of that. I mean, congradtz though, he finally got his completion percentage above 50+ percent for what seems to be the first time! Can he continue to be good moving forward? Can he do It without a stacked supporting cast like he has now? Time will tell. Time....will....tell.
Are you not capable of recognizing when a poster is quoting someone else? I didn't say anything about Allen, and I even said that I don't agree with everything the writer says about QBs, but what he was saying about adjusting schemes to fit their players' talents (like Daboll did with Allen) is apropos. For the record, I have no hate towards Allen. He's a great QB, has worked hard and improved his game, and I have nothing but respect for him.
No. We need a HC who has proven himself. Bieniemy hasn't proven anything. He doesn't even call the plays in KC. More importantly, we need a HC who has proven that he adjusts the systems to the talents of his players. Brian Daboll has done that everywhere he's been. Bieniemy hasn't done anything.
I understand this point but I still like him a lot as a candidate. A head coach is much more than calling plays and I like what I've read/watched about him a lot. Plus, as Reid's OC you know he's learning from the best.
Give me Wink as HC and Anthony Lynn as OC Martindale will fix this D and make us a smash mouth team that nobody wants to play and Anthony Lynn did a great job with Herbert this year and help groom either Fields or Lawrence.
Lots of good options on the list. Just hope that JD gets this done as soon as possible, so he and the HC can be on the same page for the draft. Would be great to be like the better drafting teams — thinking of Seattle and Pittsburgh — where the HC and GM appear to be on the same page. CS makes the list, GM stocks the cupboards. JD seems like a good shopper, so I’m optimistic that this might be not-as-awful as past transitions.
Listen if I’m hitching my wagon to someone with my job on the line, I’m going with someone I have worked and can personally vouch for. Our next HC will most likely have Douglas ties.
Agree with this 100%. That is Andy Reid's offense and it is absolutely loaded with talent. Just ask Chicago how things have worked out for them hiring one of Reid's little apprentices in Matt Nagy.
Well. I can't imagine they're that upset with Nagy. He's 29-19 as their head coach with two playoff appearances in three years. And with a competent kicker they would've won a playoff game in year one. So probably not a good example although I'm not a big Nagy fan.
