Yeah that there is no Means the Jets are suckers. A coach can feel comfortable being lousy. Herm, Bowles, Gase felt winning was secondary and no pressure.

We'd all better hope Gase is fired tomorrow. The longer he hangs around, the less likely he'll be fired. I wonder if they're trying to find a way to sell his return to the fanbase.
They would have to be miracle workers to pull that off. Selling another year of Gase to the fanbase will be mission impossible.
Yeah but coaches value job security just like everyone else and teams that fire coaches (even if they totally deserve it) quickly wont have a good reputation. Outside of Gase, the Jets have hung onto their coaches for 3+ years for the most part. I want the Johnsons to sell the team as much as anyone here but outside of their incompetence they generally do spend money and have patience with coaches despite their poor performance. They just make the worst decisions and occasionally meddle like bringing in Tebow and Bell, albeit fans wanted Bell here.
