Just to clarify… You’re comparing Justin fields to Geno Smith?

Take away the recency bias and I’m not even that much of a Justin Fields fan myself but wow, this is one hell of an opinion.

    Jesus Christ

“what kind of arm does Justin Fields have? Well under 30 yards he can survive.”

Again, before this week I would have told you if we are going quarterback second overall then we should go Wilson but this is just an unbelievably bad opinion. It could be because this video was made before the college season even started so he’s missing seven games worth of tape but come on, that’s just flat out wrong.

He hasnt really played any better this season. Go back and watch his games and he still makes these kinda throws.

In the NFL this is lunch to defenses.

We might as well keep sam rather than draft him. Or keep Sam and just draft Wilson. Why not do both?

While you may have been right about Sam, you were also touting Rosen as the QB pick of the 2018 draft.
So posters just a word of caution about Zace’s expertise in the QBs scouting department.

Maybe, but im very confident in my opinion. Rosen could have been much better at a different franchise. He was never given the opportunities Sam and the rest of the Qbs in the draft have. So we will never know.

I know a bad qb when i see one. I often hit more than I miss. I called for Rodgers and Mahomes. Didnt want cousins.

What the hell opportunities did Sam have? He was lucky enough to be coached by the worst coach in the NFL who has a history of making players worse and he was surrounded by the worst skill position talent in the NFL. You may have been “right“ about Sam but it’s not because of anything you pointed out before we drafted him.

Edit: let me rephrase, there were plenty of valid criticisms of Sam before we drafted him. The issue is we did absolutely nothing to develop him and in fact, we did more to make sure he regressed in every way possible. To say Sam was given opportunities is disingenuous at best.

Hes had plenty, hes never been benched, he hasnt made any improvements and theyre still talking about trotting him back out there. He needs to improve, stop blaming coaching.

Coaching doesnt cause him to miss wide open receivers, it doesnt cause him to throw stupid interceptions. You think they arent telling him not to do those things?

Fields is worse than Darnold, wtf would you draft a guy who is a worse version than the guy you already have with 3 years NFL experience?

And i did point all these things out beforw the draft and during about darnold.....go ahead, go check my posts.

All these excuses, hos receiving corp is not that bad, pretty much every team has had a mishmash of receivers all season due to COVID, so just stop with that narrative.

C'mon dude. Rosen's on his third team and can't get a nod over CJ Breathard. Don't make excuses for the player when you're wrong.

I said i hit more often than i miss, but im also correct. Hes never had an opportunity to actually develop. Its not an excuse its a fact. Whether that contributes to his poor play now or is irrelevant. Its a fact however.

You cant give Darnold the coaching excuse and not use it for Rosen.

I'm sure Fields will prove me right.

Fact is, you (or anyone else) don't know if Fields will suck or not in the NFL. Same with Wilson or Lawrence, etc. But after Fields's performance on Friday and if he follows that up with a similar or same performance against Alabama and wins a NC, he's going to be a top pick. He has the talent and attitude to be a top prospect and a potential good QB in the NFL. If the Jets drafted him with a coach like Greg Roman in place, that's a recipe for success.

Lol at comparing Fields to Smith, Clemens, Sims, McElroy, etc. They were never the level of prospect Fields is/was. Nice try.

And how do you call Fields's college career sucking? Far from it.

And apparently, you were already wrong about Josh Rosen (granted, I was too I'll admit), so forgive me if I don't assume Fields will automatically bust just because the almighty zace said so, lol.

not exactly the best film study as it was all over the place + contradicted itself too many times. many of the questions presented (arm strength, consistent accuracy, ability to quickly go through reads) were on full display this season and vs Clemson. Let’s see how he does vs Alabama too.

also you can also find these types of videos on all the prospects including this far more analytical one on Lawrence, which basically challenged his pocket presence, ability to read a defense, step up in big games + make NFL throws when needed vs dink and dunk, screens...

All things he failed to do last year and also were clearly evident vs Ohio State. Lawrence may end up great, but is not a flawless prospect + Fields/Wilson very well could end up the better NFL Qb.

Oh please this weak ass argument. He will suck, hes not an NFL talent. He has shown this all season. Theres a reason his stock has already plummeted.

Nice way to try and cherry pick btw, its obvious why youre not able to evaluate players. Dont say oh you were wrong about Rosen....yet i was strangely right and specific about Darnold. I havent had a single person on this board challenge me factually and no one will because you cant. You look at the way Fields plays, this isnt Josh Allen where you can lean on arm strength, theres nothing about this kid that is gonna set him apart in the NFL.

He will suck because zace said so, lol. That's basically your argument in a nutshell. Fields actually has amazing arm strength and deep ball to go along with accuracy (even more than Lawrence, granted Clemson relies more on YAC with him). So WTF are you talking about? Lmaoooo

There's a reason so many posters are dumbfounded at you in this thread. Take cue.

And what stock dropping? He's still a top 5 pick as of now. The same performance against Alabama will essentially cement it.

Yeah, forgive, but I somehow doubt your evaluation of players with your takes on Fields. Especially with how arrogant you're appearing in this thread and automatically assuming Fields will bust when in fact, he has the talent and attitude to be a good NFL QB.

And I'm not saying Fields won't bust. He may very well will, same with Lawrence, Wilson, etc.

I'm far from being an expert, but I watched the highlights of the game and things seemed way to easy for Fields. He always had a lot of time to throw and his WRs were wide open. He clearly has many talents, but I only saw 2 or 3 throws that were really impressive.

Well actually ive made my argument, but posters like you just dont know what it is. Its in the thread and its supported with evidence. You can find it.

No his arm talent is no existent, he doesnt have an amazing arm. It takes ever about of effort to throw a deep ball, thats why it's not accurate. Hes not an NFL talent. It appeara your refusal to acknowledge his shortcomings hinders a factual opinion on the matter.

The decisions he has to make are challenging for sure, but on the other hand, the Jets are in an excellent draft position right now.
