The attitude thing for Fields being a leader was always really impressive for me. He was the player than brought the BIG10 back into action. He was the one that started the petition and spoke about having a season this year.
He looked really, really good last night. Whatever Douglas decides, I’m for. Just draft your guy and build around him. Don’t ignore it like we did with Sam.

We had a leader in Jamal Adams too and that didn't end well. Hopefully that changes with the departure of AG.

Those who are smitten with trading down and the pick being worth a lot - was it the smart move to pass on Watson and Mahomes?

We've needed a quarterback for 40 years. There's going to be a highly rated one available at our pick with all of the physical tools needed while being a great kid and a hard worker.

We're going to pass on that to build a roster out so we can draft a quarterback in two years and wait two more for him to develop into a guy that can win playoff games? While praying all those other picks hit?

We have plenty of draft ammunition and cap space. The roster can rebuilt through the draft all the next two years and we can take the QB now.

I'm sorry fellas but there's zero chance that any of the "top 4" QBs, like Lance, will be there at 18, let alone where we will be picking with the Seattle pick -unless there's a drastic injury or monumental red flag problems arising. The amount of teams that are currently picking between 7 and 20 that need new QBs/could take a QB of the future is almost insane.

Exactly this. The value of drafting a 1st round QB recently has skyrocketed

    You make a good point!
Many of us are reactionary by nature as Jets fans...but I also didn't see NCAA history making performance happening on my list against a perennial top team

I wonder if Sam throws for 350+Yards and 4TDs will make our Jet fans want to switch back to Sam lol. It seems like a weekly thing here to switch qb loyalty lol.

I wouldnt let 1 college game change my decision or impression of a player.

I am sure Darnold will put up those numbers. Bellichek has always wanted suffering for this franchise, and will help plant a seed of doubt.

On the other hand, tried finding stuff about Fields character and it seems he is liked quite a bit by his teammates. I thought this was funny (old video)

What about the other 19 games he's played really well in? The only overreaction is to the two bad games he played against excellent defenses.

  20. This whole QB thing among Jet fans right now is far too Jekyll & hyde for me.
