But spearing was when one intentionally used his helmet in an effort to hurt the ball carrier. I don't think Skalski was trying to hurt Fields. He was just trying to hit him hard and stop him. If he was trying to hurt him, absolutely disqualify him, but if not, it should be like roughing the kicker. One is incidental and a 5 yard penalty and the other is a 15 yarder. With the way the rule is however, I guess they had to call it.
I think I've posted about this before, but in watching QB1, Fields is an insane competitor. Like, he almost seems like a borderline sociopath in the way he competes. He never gets excited, and he never gets down, he just wants to win and destroy and has no real regard for protecting or saving himself. He gives everything, all the time, and with almost no emotion. It'll be interesting to see how much he plays in the 2nd half, if at all. They're going to have to strap him down if the medical diagnosis in the locker room isn't good.
I like the Kid's courage. His play hasn't dropped off in spite of the injury. I have noticed he's not running near as much which given the circumstances, is probably best.
I love those that are saying Fields is winning them over. This is what Fields has done nearly every game outside of like 2 games. He’s a great consolation prize
It would be something if Jacksonville took Fields based off this game and perhaps the Championship game and we still wound up with Lawrence.
Best game of the day.. Fields better not do anymore running ...sheesh or else one option gone for Douglas
Tip of my hat to you! And I greatly respect how you've remained civil and non-emotional in responding to other posters around this.
Um....you forgot Art Schlichter. 1982.....BALTIMORE Colts. The year before Elway. I'll bet you $20 I'm right on Schlichter......get it ?
