NCJ, it was helmet. He lowered it. Deliberate ? I dunno. These kids nowadays aren't taught how to tackle (neither in the NFL). But he definitely used his helmut. And I disagree with the ejection.
It doesn't matter. The rule dictates that targeting is an automatic ejection. I don't like the rule at all and think the refs should have some discretion with the ejection but if they confirm targeting it's an ejection in college.
They are supposed to tackle with their head up. There have been quite a few player's that have suffered serious injury from tackling like that. It's for their protection just as much as it's for the runner's. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
The only fact that you are correct about Is that OSU Isn't known for churning out QB's. They have not been a QB factory for the NFL. ....but that hasn't been what OSU's goal. They haven't had a scheme that thrived on that style of QB. This is the first time that they have a legit NFL style caliber QB that Is capable of that kind of transition. I'm not saying Fields will make It In the NFL. I think so though, I would NEVER put myself out there for any QB before Fields coming out of OSU. Ever. Not once have I went to bat for an OSU QB prior to, Fields. There is a reason for that.
Can they give the Fields kid a Cortisone shot ? Jesus Skalski looks like he wants to bounty for Greg Williams
Using the school against him is so stupid. Fields is a legit top 5 QB prospect. Has Ohio St ever had one of those before??
His shoulder pads hit Fields in the side, and then his helmet hit Fields in the back. Targeting is a stupid call imo. He tried to tackle him with his shoulder. The way players hurdle tacklers, if you want to stop a ball carrier, you can't go low, and you can't go high, so the middle is the only place left. When you're trying to wrap the ball carrier up, how in the hell can you tackle without lowering our head if you want to stop the ball carrier and not get run over or hurdled.
