Bulk up? Dude he's 230-240 and was recently talking about dietary changes to be stronger. He's a big guy already.

good lawd.....I mean I know you have no idea what youre talking about with Fields-obvioulsy but your two main points so far is he has a weak arm and needs to bulk up. He has a cannon of an arm and is about 235lbs. You can just google that bro. Please

He could probably stand to lose a pound or two and get quicker in the pocket. But he literally throws defensive ends off of him lol. Bulk up and he'll be a tightend.

Fields might end up the biggest pile of shit QB to ever play for all we know but the comments in this thread are embarrassingly stupid when it comes to him.

Agreed. He's not a can't miss prospect but he has a big arm, excellent mechanics and footwork and has every raw skill you want a modern day NFL QB to have. The question is going to be if he can adapt to an offense that needs to move the chains consistently rather than three play scoring drives.

I think he can. And Haskins failures also shouldn't cloud that. They're monumentally different prospects and kids.

David Pollack said it right this morning. Before Fields' two bad games he had a chance to challenge Lawrence for #1 overall.

    he's listed at 6-3 228

    Dak is 6-2 238
    Cam is 6-5 245

Only add like 10 lbs to get him closer to 240 (the range you listed) because he's gonna take a lot of hits in the NFL

i never said weak arm and he's under 230 lbs according to everything. he needs to get up to the 235-240 for his height to deal with hits in the NFL.

you guys are completely twisting what i'm saying. I never said he had a weak arm. I said he has a good arm but not a cannon of an arm. you guys say he's 235-240 he's not he's under 230 he should be at 235-240. it's a good weight for his height.

Just take the L. He's well built and shrugs defenders with ease. He does not need to bulk up whatsoever.

he does if he wants to run in the NFL. cam newton is 245 lbs and look how quick he broke down. fields is a similar player and going to need a similar offense to what cam ran in carolina. he's gonna need that extra weight unless he wants to be a pocket passer and I don't see that in him.

The whole problem with this is the Bengals probably do not have to trade up to get Sewell, if we do not draft him Miami has just spent 3 picks in the last draft on o-line. They seem to like the w/o from LSU or Parsons. They would love to trade back as well, but, they are in the same boat as us in that the second and third picks are not that much better than the 5th or 6th pick, so there are not many trade partners.Atlanta could go many different ways but I could see them taking Ryans replacement with new coaches coming in .

Yeah man. Just like Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, and Deshaun Watson.

He's a thrower first and a runner second. He runs because he's good at it, not because he has to. He's similar to Watson in college in that sense although nowhere near as talented of a player.

230 is plenty big enough to be an NFL quarterback that runs. He's two-three inches shorter than Josh Allen and within roughly 8-10 pounds of him. He's bigger than Ryan Tannehill, Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, Brees, Brady, etc.

Newton hurt his shoulder because he runs over linebackers and can't throw the ball anymore. He's always been a run first player because he couldn't ever complete a high enough percentage of passes to keep the sticks moving without it.

    Your argument is nonsensical.

Fields has flaws. But raw physical ability in terms of speed, power, arm size, body shape and size are not a flaw whatsoever.

MacCagnan was a disaster after the FIRST round, AND he compounded draft failures with terrible free agent deals. Mowilk, Trumaine, Bell, Enumwa, Revis, Mosely (so far). How/why did they keep him so long?????

jackson on film looks way better. he's also much faster then fields. I was a huge jackson fan during that draft. i said we should have traded back and drafted jackson and everyone here told me he sucks and is a RB not a QB. Watson also looked much better on film then fields. fields on film looks like a more mobile baker mayfield. those other Qbs you list aren't the mobile types. fields looks at 1 read who is usually wide open and then takes off if he isn't. he has a lot of work to do. not saying he can't be a good QB but he's a scary pick

wilk and enunwa weren't free agents and it's hard to blame him for freak injuries. there is plenty of mistakes mac made we don't need to make some up to add to it

You just created a massive strawman and flipped the discussion away from your dumb comment about Fields bulking up. None of those players were brought up as a comparison in talent. They were all brought up to compare size and ability to absorb the NFL wear and tear a mobile quarterback endures.

he IS a pocket passer primarily...he is not anywhere near a run first QB.
