funny, but the only thing I hate about the new uniforms is the boring JETS on the helmet...the old logo was WAY better and it’s kind of surprising that they couldn’t come up with something more creative than just writing the team name on the helmet. But the color is great... I’m glad they got away from the damn olive green we had morphed into. The Kelly green was better, and the hunter green that Parcells brought was good too, but over the years it became kind of a drab olive green. I thought the old uni’s were great and didn’t need changing honestly. the one that still surprises me is the love for the old 1980’s uni’s from the sack exchange era. I don’t get it. Those helmets were the most unimaginative up creative shit looking helmets in the league, especially compaepred to the Dolphins, Bills, and the old Patriots helmet ps of those years...they all looked pretty good and we were the stepchild who couldn’t come up with anything better than writing JETS on the fucking helmet.
I agree with you 100%. I don't mind the colors of the new unis. I've ranted before about our logo being the literal name of the team. But if for some reason the Jets have entered into a pact with Cthulhu and are obligated to never ever use the graphical representation of a Jet in their logo, then I'd rather they go with the 80's era than whatever the fuck we've got going now. The current logo is like someone typed "Jets" using the default Word font, then enlarged it a few times and called it a day. I had a nightmare where the team decided to honor Gase by replacing "J E T S" on the helmet with "G A S E". Gase was however too busy studying that play chart of his to notice.
He knew this three weeks ago. His whole demeanor changed in press conferences from then. Started speaking in past tense. Bye Adam. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
i believe you are correct and the jets were going to pull the trigger before the raiders game. i posted a couple days ago that i believe williams was offered the interim HC position right before the raider game and refused cause he did not want the temp tag. i was also told that there may be something in gase's contract that prohibits (monetarily) him from getting fired before the end of the season. meaning clauses would kick in that the jets would have to escalate/fulfill payment to him quicker. take that fwiw.
You had me up until your last paragraph. We'll just have to agree to disagree, because I LOVED the unis in that era. I think the Jets turned into a jet was and still is very creative.
No, he won't. That's not what the reports say. Chris Johnson will sit in on the interview, but the decision is solely Douglas'. When Gase's firing is announced, you'll see. It will also be announced that the org chart is changing. Douglas will be in charge, he will be hiring the new HC, and that HC will report to him, NOT the Johnsons. Bet on it.
