We killed the golden goose and Quinnen did his part. Excuse me while I go throw up. Allen didn't play again and they haven't updated his status since Thanksgiving so there is no point in doing this next week. We'll just do a final season recap. Go jags. Quinnen Williams 33 tackles 22 assists 7 sacks 2 forced fumbles 591 defensive snaps Josh Allen 7 tackles 6 assists 2.5 sacks 397 defensive snaps
I'm all for building a great o-line now. But if we can get the top edge guy in this draft that might be something to consider.
I really didn't like the pick of Q at the time, and my enthusiasm sagged even further during his first year. But he's sure turned me around. Its still too bad nobody would have offered us some magic trade-down package for that pick but we kind of knew that wasn't going to happen.
Yeah he’s been so much better this year and is really developing nicely the real question at the time was would we be better with Leo and Q vs. Leo and Allen. It may have been the latter, but that’s all moot once we traded Leo
Its pretty boring here ATM so I thought I bump this just to remember everyone's thoughts back in the day. Its totally not to take a victory lap. Well actually...
Not sure there's really a victory lap to be taken in either direction here. Quinnen is better but Josh Allen has had a solid career himself. Averages about 8 sacks per year and is on pace for 15-16 this year while Quinnen is having a down year by his standards.
are we seriously talking about taking victory laps regarding the ny jets? we haven't made the p/o's in over a decade and are considered one of sports biggest jokes. any victory lap should be paused till we have a sliver of respect. this is typical jets fans nonsense that needs to stop. QW has made zero difference for this team since he has gotten here, wins vs loses, the only stat that matters.
At the time it happened, I did want Josh Allen, mainly because the Jets hadn't drafted an early 1st round edge rusher in ages. They are both having good careers. Both have made pro bowl once, Q was AP. Josh Allen could very well make it again this year. Q's not having a big stat year, but is one of the big reasons the defense feasts and QBs struggle to step up in the pocket. Also random factoid: The picks they got in the Leonard Williams deal later that year led to Ashtyn Davis and Michael Carter II. Take it as you will.
